I started taking Primadophilus Bifidus from Natures Way today. 290MG

containing freeze-dried Bifidobacterium longum, Bifidobacterium breve,

Lactobacillus rhamnosus, and lactobacillus acidophilus. The directions say

to take one capsule (2.9 billion Bifidobacteria & Lactobacilli) daily for 2

weeks, after which you can increase to 3 capsules daily. I'm so used to

taking (at least) 12 acidophilus capsules/day that taking just 1 doesn't seem

like it will do much good. (I am on 1200MG of Zithro/day). Is anyone else

taking this? Would taking more than one be OK? Or maybe I should keep

taking regular acidophilus (in addition to this) for the next 2 weeks?

Thanks!

Hi ,

I used to take the cheaper and non-refrigerated type, and when I

switched to Primadophilus Bifidus I just started taking 3 a day all at one

time, between antibiotic doses, and never have a problem. I recently

increased it to 4 as I am on an additional 250mg of Zithromax, and thought

maybe I should increase the acidophilus as well.

Hugs,

Marta

Hi ,

I think those directions are for someone who isn't taking any acidophilus.

I take 1 to 2 a day. You could take more than 2 a day.

When I take this particular brand I notice less problems with my stomach

and gas. Works great!

take it whenever i can. I also take Florajen. they have a couple of

diffferent kinds, they seems to both work,

, with the amount of Zithromax you are taking I would take at least 3.

See if your bowel will tolerate.( No loose stolls ), If so take! Take as far

away from your antibiotics as possible. Another great product (i've taken

most of them) is Opti -Flora from Shaklee. You can get this from any Shakley

dealer. It is a little costly put this is one product where only one of the

capsules mixced with their FOS does wonders to bulk up the bowels. The FOS

lines the intestines and helps the other organisms in the bill form to stay

alive to do their thing for the intestional tract. Good luck Carol

Hi Bev,

I take them both, a handful at night, more Prima then florajen, but I do not

measure, no side effects for me. I don't have time to keep track of stuff so

a handful or whatever falls out of the bottle.

Hugs,

Connie

Hi Carol,

I used to take FOS, in fact I have the company info on how it works from

Nutra Flora, the first to sell it. I maybe need to go back to it, but them

someone said it may feed the yeast, we can't win. I think I was better on

it, but I need to stay away from all the yeast causers.

Hugs,

Con
