Guest guest
Thank you so much. This list seems really wonderful. I was diagnosed about 3 weeks ago ... right now I am on an antibiotic but I forget what it's called, I'll check that later. I've been soooo tired lately - - - does the tiredness always happen??? I'm not too happy about being on an antibiotic because I really don't like taking pharmacetuicals ... I'm more for the natural route. So I was wondering if anyone has had success with homeopathy? It sounds like you all have been on medicine for a long time - I'm really not looking foward to that. I didn't know this was all that complicated. Thank you, Kim << Hi Kim, Sorry to hear about your Lyme Disease diagnosis...but at least you now know what you are dealing with. Do you know how long ago you were bitten? What, if any, antibiotics are you taking? I know how hard it is for a person your age to be dealing with this. My daughter is almost 19 and was infected when she was 9...she has been doing fine for the past few years, with proper rest. Feel free to e-mail me anytime. Take care, Joan >>

I know that I have some sort of auto=immune response that goes on.....I have had a positive ANA for years....I believe that is why I have so many rashes... and gastric and intestinal problems....My body hyper-reacts to many things.....I believe the spirochetes, the dead spiros, toxins and pollutants including just the gases, reactions to new carpet and new clothes.....just going in a dept store starts me up... There is also one other factor that I have finally come to realize invokes this response in my body.....STRESS.......Ithink I have known for a long time...but never wanted to face it. If I even have a disagreement (or a big fight) with my hubby......I will not be able to sleep AT ALL.....If there are other factors affecting my life.....I will not sleep for days....I become very ill and then develope other symptoms....arthritic, severe burning constant pain (that makes me suicidal) and many others that I just can't pull from my short term memory at this time!! (Oh yeah.....and rashes!!!! ) I try and keep my life strife free....but its impossible when I am married to a man going thru his midlife crisis (hes gonna be 45) I know he will mellow out in about 5 years.....but can I live until then??? I pray alot and love peace and quite and alone time....like tonight when I can do what I want....which is just read the list and scan the net and watch the waltons and listen to the birds.....while my hubby is teaching martial arts and my son is training....and its just me and my kitty enjoying the peace and quiet..... I would be interested in knowing any ideas for dealing with this auto immune response.....the doc has given me steroids when I have the severe herx while on IV......the first few herxs are not too bad....but then it builds up and I feel like I will die if I do not get relief.....the steroids calm it down in two days....but I know the steroids are harmful.....I would rather take a natural substance....... thanks for listening! Guest guest
Hi Byron, Do you use Alfalfa as a supplement at all, and if so, how much? I read to use double the amount prescribed on the label. I had my son use it to detoxify, but I just found out that it neutralizes acids also, so maybe would help pain for lyme patients. I believe it also acts as a diuretic. Do you know of any limits on amounts to take or adverse reactions? Thanks in advance for the info. It's good to have someone on this list knowledgable in this field. (MN) ALFALFA - Aids in healing allergies, arthritis, morning sickness, peptic ulcers, stomach ailments & bad breath; cleanses the kidneys & removes poisons from the body; neutralizes acids; is an excellent blood purifier & blood thinner; improves the appetite and aids in the assimilation of protein, calcium & other nutrients
Guest guest
Hi ... Alfalfa is great...but watch out if you have hayfever or weed allergies. Dosage varies... some people take 10 a day...some 60 over a day. Great stuff...go slow though and see how your body reacts. Guest guest
Hi All I'm new to this message board but not new to lyme disease. I contracted lyme in 1990, but through alternative treatments have been symptom free since 1994. In response to the alfalfa, I have used it for years, even before I got lyme. I use Shaklee brand and at times have taken up to 30 tablets daily. Normally I take 10 daily in divided doses. I have found it to be extremely good for my lyme arthritis. Also extremely helpful with detoxifying.
