Defragment disk drive and run scan disk might help. It could be

IE also. I have been having trouble with that! If you save mail

to disk and free up mail space may help also, and make sure you

are compacting mail folders occasionally.

These little gems can be so nice, but can stress you to the limit

also.

no you need to empty the place where temporary web pages you view is stored.

...I am sure many do not realize..

..EVERY web page you look at gets stored on your puter...do a lot of

surfing...and u un out of room on your hard drive...you need to go into my

computer.

...choose system tools..then choose control panel then choose .choose

internet...

open and peek around and find where it says to delete temporary files....and

click on it....and then after...you go and empty your recycle bin

..you should always do that step first BEFORE you defragment or scan disk your

hard drive...what is the sense of " straightening your closets " when you

haven't gotten rid of the stuff that you do not use that is just taking up

space.....Bernadette

Hi Barb,

I did the defragment, just before I started having problems....strange

huh'? And I did scan disc too.

I do have Internet Explorer version 4.0, is that the one causing you

problems??? Think I should upgrade to 5.0?? I did empty my mail and

compact often, as the system makes me, whether I want to or not.

Hugs,

Marta

Hi Marta :)

It would be a good idea to upgrade to 5.0 if you haven't already. I was

having a lot of problems before I did. Also run a virus scan. You can

usually download free 30 day trials on most of them. Often a virus can work

in a way that is a nuisance to your program files and even your internet

explorer. I have had that happen too! Once I had no internet... it was

wiped out by a virus my daughter inadvertently picked up from someone she

knows. (They didn't realize they had it). I ended up having to reformat my

entire harddrive to get rid of it. Well, hope these suggestions help you.

Blessings,

Lorraine

I go on e-bay a lot...everytime you look at an ad .....if you do NOT have an

active virus scan running on your computer, you risk downloading a virus

without even realizing it. It should be set to scan everything...deliberate

downloads from e-mails,

Twice, an ad froze while the pic was about to download, because my active

virus scan warned me the picture was an infected file. No way do I think the

person deliberately posted an " infected " graphics file...most people do not

realize it.....

but like safe sex...you need your virus scan always active ...to practice

" safe surfing " ..:) Bernadette

Hi Lorraine,

I do use McAffee virus scan, and have all the updates, and scan my

computer daily for viruses. I sure hope that I haven't missed an update and

that is the problem. Your suggestion is a good one, and one I am

considering too,

Thanks and Hugs,

Marta
