Wallace/all,

I also think that loss of our connection to all life explains the

general insanity on the planet.

I don't know any other way to explain it.

Whether it is continuous war, butchery on a global scale, or a mother

who drowns her children in a bath tub, I think the ultimate cause is

disaffection from nature.

Since I've been a political progressive activist all my life, I've

always talked about the 'isms'- classism, capitalism, racism, etc.

Those play a role, but since I've read Buhner's book, and many others,

I am convinced that if we keep uncovering the layers, peeling back,

going ever more and more inward, searching for truth, that the

ultimate cause of pain and frustration is our disconnection to nature.

And the concept that we are all alone out here. Not realizing that

Joni was right, we are made of the same materials as the stars.
