Guest guest
Hi, The normal length to review an application for SSDI is approximately six months. So yours are one month longer than average, but that is not unusual, unfortunately. They need to review applications submitted earlier than yours, then they need time to contact doctors, etc ... If your daugher completed the forms thoroughly, that will help speed up the process..If your doctors have their forms ready, that helps a lot, too.. Good luck elizabeth In a message dated 3/19/00 2:39:05 PM Eastern Standard Time, skoog44@... writes: << My big question is how to get a ruling from the SSDI? Guest guest
Hi All Somehow this doesn't ring true...but I have never heard of them. My big question is how to get a ruling from the SSDI? My daughter submitted to them almost 4 mos ago and they have said it could be another 3 months. Does anyone have any suggestions of how to expedite their decision? Short of sitting on their doorstep night and day. LOL Any info would be appreciated. Also her insurance disability is dragging their feet and she desperately needs some income as most of you can relate to. Guest guest
Hi Meg,. I have come across their web pages before, but I do not know anyone who has used them to fight for their insurance claims. It does say they are Non-profit, could very well be a legitimate concern that are willing to help those in need. Not sure though. Guest guest
Hi, Penny,I filed for SSDI in September 1995. It took 9 denials, 2 1/2 years before receiving approval. At that time, I was told it was routine for the first 3 to be denied automatically. Had to appear before a judge, who ruled it should have been granted on the first go-round. It was granted on the basis of Lyme, and its many associated illnesses: encephalitis, seizure disorder, fibromyalgia, bipolar disorder, cognitive dysfunction, chronic fatigue, somnambulism, abnormal evoked potentials (results of EEGs), etc. Supporting evidence included all testing from my LLMD (including my blood cultures, spinal tap analysis, MRI), my chiropractor, my psychiatrist, and another pain specialist (did nerve-block for pain management) who also did range-of-motion testing, and strength testing, etc. Fortunately, my long-term disability advanced all funds that Social Security should have paid, and when I received my lump-sum benefits retroactively, I repaid the long-term disability company what they had advanced. I was represented in court by the long-term disability insurance attorney. They actually handled everything for me in the two-year period, except for the actual filling out of forms. They were very helpful in walking me through all the confusion and reassuring me when I got panicky. On the other hand, when applied (years later), he got it on the first go-round. You can never tell. You certainly can't do anything to expedite, except maybe to call on current status, but that just might make them mad. They do things in their own sweet time, depending on caseload.Rose in Texas Jim & Penny Skoog <skoog44@...> wrote: My big question is how to get a ruling from the SSDI? Guest guest
Hi, y'all,Sounds like scam to me. I would never send an unknown organization my credit card number or check. Pursuing SSDI benefits is time-consuming. But they can't do anything for you that you can't do for yourself with a little patience and a lot of hassle.Rose in Texas Family <hughes@...> wrote: From: " Family" <hughes@...> We also have the ability to acceptcredit> card donations.
