I tried oregano that way also and it is truly awful. What I read is to put

the drops in empty capsules. Like the ones you get other herbs in. Only they

have nothing in them. Open them up, put the drops in and put them back together

again. You can buy them at www.herbalremedies.com

Double 00 Capsules, NOW Foods Gelatin - 250 Empty Capsules $5.87

If you find something that helps, it's worth it to modify it until it works.

I know a few of us are taking oregano drops. My son has bronchitis,

and I have him on many herbs (cat's claw, echinasia, astragulus...many more). My

herb lady recommended trying oregano. The first day I gave him four drops, I

thought he was going to puke. But, the next morning he didn't cough, like he

has.

I'm considering taking it myself. I put some in tea, but it still was nasty. Any

recommendations on how to take it???

Thank you!

Thank you! My son is too young for capsules, so he is suffering with tea :).

I'll get the capsules for myself!

Hi guys, I dont' know which oregano oil are you giving/ taking, but

taking the essential oil pure is dangerous, can cause lung damage, burn

your stomach.

I hope you're already using the diluted oil to do so. Read a lot before

starting with oregano oil, it's a VERY strong essential oil along with

thyme, both are never to be ingested without dilution.

Hi Selma and all,

i've been taking Oreganol P73 by the American herb and spice co for

about a year now

- i use the dropper lid and fill a gelatin capsule with 12 drops 2x a

day and experience

no lung or intestinal side fx. this is not the essential oil. this is a

medicinal

extract of oregano. don't drink it in water - it tastes awful.

there's also a super strength, but i've never tried it.

Hi Steve, long time no 'see'!

How do you feel this p73 work for you?

I'm afraid of stomach pains with oregano... No problem there? What do

you feel it helps you, since you're using it for a year?

Hi Selma

can i be sure it helps me? i guess not 100% but my IBS isn't as bad as

it used to be.

i think this stuff generally kills pathogens in the gut and bloodsteam.

i hear it doesn't kill beneficial probiotics but who

knows? i think this stuff basically nukes intestinal microbes. i've

had loose bowels and severe IBS

for about 5 years - so if the oregano doesn't mess up MY stomach, i

don't think it will mess

up anyone's - unless they have an ulcer i suppose. i try not to take

it before bed however

because it can contribute to heartburn if you lie down afterwards.

Steve, thanks for the info.

Glad to hear this oregano oil p73 you take does not cause more

intestinal/ stomach issues as the essential oil dilution.

I was just reading about IBS... Funny, I've been to so many gastro-

doctors all over the world and NOBODY told me I could have that.

Maybe because they believe 'there's no cure'?? I had gastritis years

ago (it could be seen through an endoscopy). Years later, I did the

awful exam again, they saw nothing and said " You have nothing, go

home " .

I always suffered from stomach cramps and diarrhea for decades, with

and without the 'gastritis' diagnostic. After what I've been reading

about IBS symptoms, that looks pretty close to what I suffered.

Doctors.... How can I trust them ??

Next time I order something in the US, I may then try to order this

product (I don't need it for the moment, but with lyme, one never

knows....).

If I had IBS before, I would like to tell you I feel I'm cured!! I

mean, I need to continue my diet, avoid white sugar, processed grains

(not whole), milk products, too many acid fruits (but not all fruits

cause me problems), rub the strong oil on my back (behind the

stomach) sometimes when I feel some pain is coming (about once every

2-3 weeks, it may happen, specially when I'm tired).

And if no parasites appear due to lyme (I had them twice since

April), well, then my gastro-intestinal tract functions perfectly

now. Much better than before I got lyme, I assure you. I don't know

if I can call that a 'cure' though!

How are you doing with CP herbs now? I hope you are now able to take

a bit higher dosages!

Selma

yeah, that's basically the IBS cure that i do. despite the oregano oil

- i eliminate

all the things you eliminate. sometimes i can get away with grain such

as rice

and oatmeal.

this is a great site for IBS:

http://www.helpforibs.com/diet/

really helpful eating tips and some cool products like fennel tea.

i'm still moving very slowly with the herbs. i tried raintree cat's claw

yesterday but it gave me psychiatric probs within 20 minutes. perhaps

because i mixed this with Dr Zhang's herb with Smilax.

that's why i need to go slow. had i taken the full cat's claw i could

have

been in serious trouble. i only took about 1/4 of the dose. hard to

tell if it

was an MCS reaction to an ingredient or what but i think because of my

detox issues i may have to avoid it. i remember a lyme doc saying that

people

with detox pathway blocks may not be able to take cat's claw.
