Guest guest
My God Sharon, You must be sick of this, it was Kay's husband who found his rash a few days ago, it just never ends does it....??? I pray that with early treatment that both husbands will have little problem. My husband worked outside quite a bit yesterday, I will check him all over as soon as he comes in from work. I'm very behind on mail - have sick dog too (lyme???) - but your husband had even the bulls-eye rash & isn't on abxs? This cannot be correct - tell me I'm misunderstanding something here... Personally, I wouldn't even bother with test (unless it's required or something), but just go straight for the abxs for a couple of months. (I'm no doc - not by any stretch - LOL! - But this is what I've read on every lyme site. Tell him he's " looking a gift horse in the mouth " - having knowledge of the bite & not taking the abxs NOW! My daughter had no knowledge of bite -- in fact, the more I think about this, the more I feel it was probably a mosquito bite that infected her. But, had she been aware of a tick bite - knowing what I know now - she would be " emersed in abxs " at least for a couple of months. Hope he comes to his senses - for your sake, if not for his own. Guest guest
Marta, Sharon & Kay, So sorry about your husbands. went out Sunday after he promised me he would be careful, I looked and he was emptying the lawn mower bag full of leaves, walking through our woods!!!!!! I couldn't believe it, I was so angry at him. Told him he must really not believe I'm as sick as I am if he would take that risk himself. He wouldn't even listen to me when I offered advice for protections. But I did check him thoroughly afterward. He just laughed and said he enjoyed the check! But I know you guys understand that I didn't find it funny at all. Sorry, I needed to vent and knew you guys could understand. I am so worried after reading your posts that he'll get Lyme and he still refuses to get tested. MEN!!! (Reid, how long were you sick before you got tested?). Did you go on your own, or did your wife have to drag you there? Thanks guys for letting me vent , and good luck with treatment. Guest guest
Thanks Reid, So there is hope that men will go to the doctor on their own. Sorry you had the three years misdiagnosed. I just got my records back from my old doctor. He did some useless Lyme test (Total Lyme Antibody), but wrote on the same day, " patient was raking leaves a few days ago, and developed a rash covering her torso, blotchy red spots especially in collar area, not dermatitis. Patient also complains of joint pain and shooting pains throughout body! He blamed everything on Anemia, that was in 1992. I went to him through 1997 with same complaints on and off, and new ones as well. Finally got the name of my current LLMD thinking I had Fibromyalgia (since my mother did), and go diagnosed Clinically for Lyme. But had three bands positive for WB IGm, none for IGg, but now I see that some people won't have an IGg response. And the idiots at NIH are now " Only " requiring a positive IGg to be considered for their study. Makes me just so spitting angry!!!!!! Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. And please know when I say things negative about men, I'm speaking generally and always have you and and others from the list on my mind, knowing you don't fit my generalizations. Maybe I'm just getting cranky, so sick and tired of being this way and its getting to . Hope you and your wife are still working on it, instead of giving up. Its so difficult though, isn't it?! Guest guest
No, my Husband didn't have the rash, Kay and oh I forget, someone else's husband had the rash. My doctor wants my husband to get tested because of the possibility of it being sexually transmitted. And my husband has some of the symptoms, but refuses to get tested. Sorry, I wrote that pretty confusing post. But thanks for your concern and thanks for understand that I was venting and needed to. It does help.
