Hi Marta, As far as I know You can test for antibiotic levels in the blood to

see if they are high enough as desired. Unfortunately they cannot tell if the

antibiotics are actually killing the bacteria. Many Doctors do test blood

levels though to see if the drugs are acheiving those desired levels. I don't

really know how much good it does. Feel better-Val

Thanks Val,

After I posted this, I realized there had to be some way to test,

afterall they can test alcohol content in the blood, as well as illegal drug

testing. I do believe I will ask my doctor to do this for me, if he isn't

already for all I know.

Feeling pretty stupid,

Marta

Hi Marta,

The test for levels of meds are usually Peaks and troughs.

You take the blood, take your med then they take the blood about an hour

later. At least that is the only one I can think of. Some drugs do have

their own special test to check the blood levels.

Hugs,

Connie

Thanks Connie,

I wonder if my doctor would be receptive to my having one of these tests

done, I hate to think I am taking all these meds for naught!

Hugs,

Marta
