Guest guest
Hi Amy (my daughters name too). Don't think that you are being overprotective because this disesase is MEAN> Your son could have lyme and a co-infection as well....(we just found out me and my son have both) I have had lyme for at least 25 years, maybe more b/c my Mom has it too, so she may have passed it to me inurto. Find a doctor who will work with Igenex Labs in Palto Alto California. They do the accurate testing for all this stuff, as well as Stoneybrook, Long Island, NY.I hope all goes well. Guest guest
Amy, It is very possible that your son has Lyme. Make sure you demand a lyme test from the pediatrician and have it sent to one of the specialty labs (Igenx, Stonybrook) Don't let the Dr.s shrug you off and act like it is not Lyme. At least you will have a little better piece of mine getting the tests done and then you can focus on whatever the problem might turn out to be. God Bless you! Hope you and your son are feeling better -Val
Guest guest
Hi Gail, I've very curious about something you mentioned in your reply to Amy. You think you were born with Lyme. I'm 33, married 1 1/2 years and I want to start a family, but everything I've read about pregnant women with Lyme (miscarriages, etc...) has scared the hell out of me. If you were born with Lyme, when did symptoms appear? Were you sick as a kid? Also, do you thing your kids might have it? I'm almost at the point where I don't think I will ever have children (intentionally) because of my fear of passing this horrible disease to them. Either that or wait until they find a way to cure Lyme -- but I may be 50 by then LOL! I'd appreciate any encouraging words you might have. Thanks a lot,
Guest guest
Thanks Val, well we have spent the last few days running tests, such as abdominal ultrasound, ct and bloodwork, and today we went to see a surgeon to see what he thought. They have found that he may have a kidney problem for one of his kidneys is much larger than the other, we should know more tomorrow....amazingly enough he is mostly complaining about his belly right now. My ped doc did send out a lyme test to the local lab and asked that I bring her info on the other labs, she is keeping an open mind thank god. Will update you later....am not on much any more for with the IV roceph, and the mepron and oral zith, (soon to be IV zith, ) I am pretty much wiped out at the end of the day, but the bright side is that at least I am getting a lot more sleep. Thanks for the words of encouragment. Hugs Amy
Guest guest
Hi Amy, I did not realize you were on IV too. Have you noticed an improvement I hope and pray that your son gets better from whatever he does have nd if it is Lyme that he will be one of those who gets cured. I hope you are feeling better too. Keep the faith and God Bless You! -Val

I am exhausted, my back hurts all the time, and my memory is failing again, but hopefully adding mepron and IV zithromax to my 2grams of rocephrin will help. Thanks for the vote of confidence with my son. Hugs Amy
