Guest guest
Dear Friends: My heart sank today when I received the Western Blot results from Igenex - both of my children, boy age 13 and girl almost 12, have lyme. I am so depressed I don't know what to do!! Are there any sites with protocol's for children's treatment specifically?? My doctor has referred me to Hershey Medical, but I'm not sure whether they're lyme literate or not. Also, if the kids got it the same time I did, and they're just now being treated - is it too late for them to ever be cured? Guest guest
Dear , I am so very sorry to hear about your children. Try to think positive. My daughter has Lyme and it is awful to have your child go through this. It is much easier to have it myself. We have just finished with Hyperbaric treatments with Annie and there were alot of children doing the treatments with wonderful results. It is new and of course not proven but what is with Lyme. You might look into it. Remember many, many people get Lyme and are cured or at least are able to lead a normal life without on going symptoms. It is hard to remember that when we hear about so many real sick people with chronic Lyme. Good luck to you, let me know if I can help. I know lots of families with children with Lyme I can put you in touch with them. Meg >From: " F. I'm so sorry for you and your family. There couldn't be worse news that then. Maybe if you contacted the LDF could give you a referral for your area. Since you mentioned Hersey, does that mean you're in PA? I'm truly sorry. Marleen
Guest guest
Lovette, I am really sorry about your children. At least they have a fighting chance of getting help in their lifetimes! In the meantime....I pray for the(and for you, and for every other family that is totally stricken with this plague) that you have more good days than not! Guest guest
Lovette, Martha is right.. Dorthy Piterica is wonderful.. I think she works out of Jersey Shore Medical Center. She was my doctor when I first got sick when I was 16. I was soo ill with the lyme.. She saved my life. When I first went to see her I didn't even kinow my name or what I ate for breakfast that morning. I was misdiagnosed by other doctors in the past. Well in one year time I was able to go to school my senior year for half days. After that I was able to go to college graduate and work full time. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't have a life. From 18 - 25 I was doing great. I relasped this summer do to my own fault of working too many hours. She is amazing and I can't say ebough good things about her. In 1989 doctor's were more against aggressive treatment for lyme. (they still are but there is improvement) She still treated me aggressively and she not only got me back on my feet but many other children in the area. I wish I could still she her, but I'm too old now. Good luck,
Guest guest
Lovette, There are so many strains of lyme, maybe the strain they are on will be easier to treat. Think positve even at this terrible moment. Thoughts and prayers are with you, love ya, connie
