We don't feed our dog from the table, though my wife sometimes shares popcorn with him. I have always stuck with purina dog chow, but my wife thought she had to make it more interesting and started mixing some canned food in. Now he won't tough plain dog chow. He always stole the cats food, until I found a spot, I got the cat a perch where he can escape from charley and we also put his food there. But I've found now that Diane is mixing canned food with the dog chow, I catch the cat eating charley's food. Charley couldn't care less about sharing his food with billie, billie's a little more protective of his food. All three dogs are grazers. They will go eat a bite & walk away, then come back later. Teddy & Dr Pepper have been doing this for around 8 or 9 years, Gidget for 2. It is kind of hard to alter that now. We had been also giving them food off the table. But we have stopped that. Hopping that helps Dr Pepper. I have had him for 9 years. He was suppose to be our son's "" dog. But Dr Pepper picked me as his Master. Dr Pepper & Gidget sleeps in bed with us. Teddy is Mom's dog. But with Mom's health, she can't help him up in her lap & he won't let anyone pick him up. If Dr Pepper is not in my chair with me. Teddy will jump up with me. Mom keeps her chair reclined, I guess he can't hop up there with the chair reclined. Terry
