Thanks Jody,

That gives me an idea...have you ever reached " remission " ? Are your doctors

satisfied with the 50/60 range? How are your symptoms? I hope you're

well...Thanks again for responding so quickly.

My liver biopsy showed no cirrhosis, but symptoms were like those for drug

induced hepatitis. Doc is currently looking into that. Any input about

that from anyone?

Also have fatty infiltration, anyone have input about that?

Dear :

At my highest my AST and ALT were in the 2700's (bilirubin 57). My doctor

never believed that I had drug induced hepatitis. He first thought mine was

viral with no viral indicator. It wasn't until it was proven steroid

responsive, and then recurred after treatment was discontinued, that they

gave me a positive AIH diagnosis.

,

When I was at my sickest and had no diagnosis, my levels were 1,800 and

2000. Now, though, they are 82 and 126 and I am " officially " in remission.

It has taken 2 years.

Jody,

I recall reading that fatty liver is caused by either

alcohol or high fat diet (excess fats are stored in

the liver for some reason?) In your research, please

try to find out if the condition corrects itself

through proper diet or if it's there to stay.

Thanks so much,

The ast/alt levels are not necessarily linked to damage to the liver. There is no real correlation, at least not reliable. Some people have high levels and no liver damage and there are people with advanced cirrhosis with normal levels. I have also read that the levels are deceiving, in that, as best as I can recall, say a level of 400 is not twice as bad as a level of 200, etc. So don't get too hung up on the numbers. Just wait for the biopsy, if you are having one. -dz-Bobby Yoo Who <swaveanddebonerguy@...> wrote:

He said that meant that the HepC is very active and is scarring the hell out of my liver. I am worried that these levels will not make a good cndidate for treatment.
