Guest guest
Well, 'tomorrow' will 'probably' be my day for the liver-biopsy,... I got a little screwed-up about the 'timing' for the appt., (what else is new? LOL) So, I had to go to the Lab and get some blood-tests, IF the results can be faxed to the Hospital 'before' the procedure, then, it'll go-ahead,....if not,...then re-authorize-/-re-schedule,.....PITA Wish me 'luck' or whatever else'll work ! Thanks !

You will be ok i was nervus befor my liver biopsy. It wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be. Guest guest
Things went very well with the biopsy,.... It was NOT as 'bad' as Ithought it'd be, not a 'fun-day' but it'd didn't 'ruin' my day either ! I 'should' be able to get test-results by Monday, maybe a bit sooner. We''ll see what happens next. Thanks ALL ! :-)
Guest guest
Mine was an ultrasonically-guided liver 'core' biopsy'. No 'knock-out' meds for me, believe me,.I asked about it too ! ! ;-) I had an 'endoscopy' done a while back, and whatever they gave me worked great,... went to sleep,....woke up,....remembered NO-thing,..... However, my experience THIS time (my-first) was not( too) 'negative',.... I certainly hope that any others will go as smoothly !
Guest guest
Glad it went well for you. I don't understand some of these hospitals. I got results from my biopsy before I went home from the hospital, but I guess they have the lab equipment right there. Some of my tests (like the PCR) had to be sent offsite somewhere. -dz-DUG853@... wrote: Things went very well with the biopsy,....It was NOT as 'bad' as Ithought it'd be, not a 'fun-day' but it'd didn't'ruin' my day either !I 'should' be able to get test-results by Monday, maybe a bit sooner. We''ll see what happens next. Thanks ALL ! :-)
Guest guest
Thank you Sharon! I knew somebody on this board had posted the correct name of the drug, but I couldn't remember who. That was the same drug I was given. I had the Versid and some other pain med. I was having a scope done for my hiatal hernia at the same time and after I was all hooked up and laid out, he asked me which I wanted first. I just pointed to the IV. Never felt a thing (that I remember) until after the procedure. -dz-Sharon Zeis <szeis_1@...> wrote: I had the same drug as Dave. It's Versid. Guest guest
Little-TINY pieces that were taken for the biopsy, I thought that they'd take a larger amount of tissue,... but, (I guess) that was the " old-days " , and 'they' can use a smaller sample-size now ? These hospitals 'seem-to' have a protocol that is followed as far as releasing results,...they 'have-to' be filtered-through the doctors' office,...otherwise they can't charge You for an office-visit again !? Weird, but, that's (in-part) how I feel about it. Guest guest
I guess that's where I was a little lucky. My clinic is in the same building as the hospital. They have these transfer elevators that you can get out on one side for the clinic and the other for the hospital. My doctor did the biopsy (they called it a needle biopsy, referring to the small amount of tissue taken that you referenced). He came in to see me when I was in the recovery room and gave me the results. -dz-DUG <DUG853@...> wrote: Little-TINY pieces that were taken for the biopsy, I thought that they'd take a larger amount of tissue,... but, (I guess) that was the "old-days", and 'they' can use a smaller sample-size now ?These hospitals 'seem-to' have a protocol that is followed as far as releasing results,...they 'have-to' be filtered-through the doctors' office,...otherwise they can't charge You for an office-visit again !?Weird, but, that's (in-part) how I feel about it.
