Guest guest
Hello everyone: It was a heck of a shock yesterday when I received a call from my hematologist that my results came back positive for Hep C and that I had elevated liver enzymes....I was expecting to hear that I'd get a prescription for my bleeding disorder (hereditary)! It is most likely that I was infected by a blood transfusion as a child...in which case I've been carrying this for maybe two decades Since I'm really not one to get upset or get too worried, I shed a few tears yesterday and have been carrying on as normal The shock was the worst part...I was fine by yesterday evening and took my husband out for our wedding anniversary. I don't know if I'm abnormal in my reaction, or if it hasn't sunk in yet - part of me is just *glad* that it wasn't worse news. I've been doing a lot of reading on the web about Hep C (since I was totally ignorant). I am planning to see a hepatologist and get some tests and a CT scan (this is what the hematologist recommended). Until there are results, it's probably best not to worry. The Dr. also told me to read up on PegInterferon (sp?)...does anyone here have experience with this drug? Well....I'm sorry for rambling on. I'm glad this resource is available. Thanks for reading, Raychel
