Welcome back Bill. I also got married while you were away. Said the nuptuals

August 12, 2000. Now I'm Judi Wetzell-. Yup, I married Gerry. Hope

the Bradford boys remember that HUGE bottle of champagne you gave us at the

regional 2 years ago, it made a great centerpiece for the private party at

Mom's house after the wedding.

Gerry and Judi (Wetzell) .

I'm back.

Hi.. last time I posted was on June 30th..I have a 7 yr old recently

diagnosed with ocd...obsessions are bad thoughts..compulsions are

questions....I was beyond stressed out with everything and feel like

a new person now!

I was so stressed, not sleeping, and starting to have chest pains...

I ended up making an appt. for myself and was given my own

prescription for anxiety/sleep...thankfully I only needed it for a

few days..., my husband and I ended up having a therapy session alone

with our son's therapist and I was able to resolve a lot of what was

causing me stress. My husband and I are finally on the same page with

this ocd, and dealing with our son. We are now both " parents " and I'm

no longer the mother of " two boys " ! What a difference it has made in

our relationship....now we can both work on what is best for our son

and not argue with each other about what I'm doing wrong and what he

is doing wrong. I feel so much better!

Now back to lovely ocd and what I'm learning... If you read my old

posts you'll remember my struggles with the BSE's on the zoloft.. the

fits of anger, hitting, biting, etc... when we reduced the dosage it

got better, but my son was still a bit more defiant than he had ever

been... a therapist that I had tried to get into initially called to

let me know she had time now.., but when I told her who we were

seeing and that my son had 4 sessions already she thought it would be

best to continue (I agreed especially since she was able to get

through to my husband!) anyway we spoke for 20 minutes and she

answered lots of my ?'s. One was regarding the defiant child I had

now and I blame zoloft.. she said that what happens is the med takes

the edge off of his fears/thoughts/etc.. and he is probably

feeling " normal " for the first time...able to express himself more.

What's funny is I use to think I was so lucky having such a well

behaved, respectfull child compared to most of his friends. Oh

well..After thinking about what she said, My husband and I had a long

talk with him about acceptable behavior and what wasn't allowed...and

consequences..., long story short.. it took one time of being

disciplined by Daddy.. and his behavior has improved a lot..

On another note, I am really researching the natural ways of dealing

with ocd... since my son is on zoloft now I can't try them. He has

his first appointment with the child psych for an evaluation to see

what meds he should be on. I hope he is open to some natural ways

first...other wise we will but heads! The only way I'll ever find out

if it works is to try it... I'm speaking specifically about things

like amino acids,...st. johns wort, or other remedies.. My son had an

appt today with the therapist and I brought this up to her... she

isn't against it...but she said her experiences with clients that

tried them wasn't all that great... I'm taking her advice and leaving

him on the 25 mg of zoloft till his appt which is in 15 days and

hoping for the best. In the mean time I'm learning everything I can

about a natural way. Lauri

Hi Marci,

I know I sound so strange because I just tell everyone ... JUST CALL ME!! But

I really hate typing stories - lazy I guess and I'm not too quick on my typing,

but I LOVE to talk! Call me anytime. I'll share the things I have found, what

I use, what I'm in the process of doing, and what others have shared with me!

Hey - I'm back too - but moved to West Paris, Maine in January. After 32 years at the same job we made the decision to move where it is quieter. It's really nice here - log house on 12 acres - 4 acres of fields and the rest woods. Now I will have to find a job. I haven't kept up with the postings but hi to all the new people and the old (not in age) friends (actually I may be the oldest at 62). Bought a tractor (1970s Massey Ferguson 135 - guy talk) Still making wood for winter.

Hello everyone after over a year I'm back. For those of you who don't know me i'm the one who started this groupin 2001. i've been through 4 rounds of treatment. Everytime my viral load wasundetectable, but has always come back. In April I was started on amaintence dose of peg intron but my platelets dropped to a dangerouslylow level so the doctor stopped the medication. I don't know why theyalways come back up in a couple of months. Dr. said that the reasonfor discontinueing was that I could bleed out if I got injured. Wastold that nothing more could be done until protease inhibitors areapproved for use on hepc patients. I was told that would be in about ayear.I don't know why she doesn't just prescribe them anyway. I'll find outmore on my next visit to the Dr. at the end of Aug.I want to welcome any newcomers to the group. I think you will findeveryone friendly here.Well I guess I'll close for now..

Dennis It took me 5 month's to land a job after moving back to God's country "Missouri", just about ran out of money. But it was worth it, even though I'm making a LOT!!! less money. Hi, everyone. This must be old home week or something, everyone coming back.

Lots has changed around here but the one thing that has not changed is the hep c

my husband Greg is dealing with. His treatment ended in Nov. of 2003 and until

June of 2004 he showed good. then it all came rushing back. Docs say there's

nothing they can do but monitor the situation. He gets bloodwork done once in

awhile and an ultrasound of the liver every year. In fact, his next one is the

27th of this month.

Life is different for me and my guide dog gidget. Fifteen months ago, i got a

job at the air force base as a switchboard operator. I am thrilled! First thing

I did with my first pay check was to buy a stereo system for Greg and have it

installed in our custom van. then, of course, an alarm system.

Our son had his 1966 Impala ready for car shows, had had it in three, and

it got totaled. Greg and have been working at putting it back together,

complete with a new frame, and also trying to get ours ready so they can show

side by side, father and son.

I have not posted in what seems like forever, but I do read and I do think of

all of you.

Everyone take care, have a safe summer and be good to yourselves.

Hey Sue. Sorry about Greg, but my aunt has had hepC

for over 30 years. She couldn't do treatment because

it almost killed her. She is about 75 and is just now

having problems with it.

How's Gidget doing? I know she was also having some

health problems.

Hi, Sharon. Gidget is doing fine. Vets feared she had the beginnings of kidney

failure along with irritable bowel disease. they had her on sixty mg's of

prednizone a day. After many months of this, i began to notice different

neurological changes that were not good so I slowly took her off the steroid.

she is fine. She will beseven in September and seems healthy and happy. She's

such a remarkable dog!

Thanks for asking about Gidget.

Hugs,

Sue and Gidget

Hi Terry

I know what you mean about running out of money. I

haven't been able to work since Dec. 2004 because of

the arthritis in my back and the fatigue caused by the

virus.

I filed for disability in Sep. of last year and have

been fighting with Social security ever since.

As long as I still have breath in me I'm ok.

I try not to dwell on problems since I can't do

anything about them.

It took Susy almost 4 years of fighting with SS to get her diability binifits. befor getting her's. That lump some check was nice. It helped alot. But it is hard trying to live while trying to get those benifits. Are you fighting on your own or do you have help? They can only charge at most 25% of the back money & there is a dollar cap on that. In Susy's case, the dollar cap was less then the 25%. So they didn't even get the 25%. I know I sure could use mine right now..I want to get a place of our own. I am so tired of paying rent to a JACKASS of a landlord..Get this..He called today and my electric bill hasn't even came in yet and he wants me to pay it..I asked if he had the bill and he said no but he wanted me to pay the bill plus what I have used so far..I asked him who in the hell is stupid enough to pay a bill unseen much less pay something that hasn't even started a new bill..So we really got into it and I said I am nt finished with you about my nose either.I want the name of your insurance co.He refses to give it to me so I guess it's of to small claims court for him and his deadbeat ass..He don't fix anything here and when he starts to he nevr finishes..He really doesn't get it that I have already spoken to an attty..Ok my nerves are shot plus not to mention I missed a curve and wrecked my car a little and I haven't told Floyd yet cause eh'll walk on water to get me..LOL..So Iam

really dreading when he comes in.Wish me luck yall..Say a prayer I need it more than yall know..Terry Long <pawpawto3@...> wrote: They can only charge at most 25% of the back money & there is a dollar cap on that. Terry

After I was denied the first time I hired a lawyer.

They requested a second review and I was denied a

second time. I'm now waiting for a hearing.

I'm going to the shrink on tue. All of this has

That is how it went with Susy. I thank they fight you, to see how bad you want it. What was odd, after dening Susy her benfits. At the hearing the judge asked the SS lawyer if they thought Susy could work. He said, no. Our Lawyer didn't have to say anything. They were in & out in less then five minutes, with Susy getting her benfits. It did take a few more month's befor Susy started getting her checks & back check. I've heard that a lot. My wife went through the same thing. I think it's almost automatic that they refuse you the first time. My wife was successful after she went back with an attorney.

more mormal Life. Some days I do pretty good, but

others I don't want to get out of bed.
