Guest guest Posted November 19, 1998 Report Share Posted November 19, 1998 Does anyone know about the oral antibiotic Ruled. ( I'm not sure how to spell it) My LLMD told me about it the other day. He said it is a wonderful antibiotic for lyme patients also gently on the belly. Right now it's available in every country expect the US and Canada. It will never come to the US because the company that bought the patent will not make a profit. My doctor said I can get the med's from a local support group if my new treatment fails. It is legal to bring it in the US in certain amounts. It's about $4.00 a day. So if anyone heard anything or tried the drug I would appreciate any input. I don't know much about it since this is my new doctor and he brought it up on my first visit on Monday. I know his 12 year old daughter is on it currently, and she is responded very well. She never responded well to IV. (I never responded well to IV) Wouldn't it be great if this might be the answer to help people get better. I see him in 2 weeks and I will discuss this with him further. He said the meds are $4.00 a day and insurance won't cover it since it is not in the US. Could you please inform me about this other medicine. You wrote something like you can get ruled from a local support group. What does that mean? It is an antibiotic that supposed to be helpful for the treatment of lyme. My doctor said if we decided that I need this I can get it through the local lyme support group. I go back in 2 weeks so I will inquire more info. You should ask your doc and see what he or she thinks. The 12 year old who is doing well is the doctors daughter.
