Guest guest
Lamar here, I have also made an ANNOUNCEMENTS folder in the files area. I have put basic information on the three CMTA conferences that I know are scheduled and where to get more information. I am sure that there are other conferences and events coming up that I do not know about. Any member can add to this folder as a " Text Document " Please remember if you add an event that you need to take it off after it takes place. Other possibilities are Disability conferences, Neuropathy Conferences, etc. If we all use it, this will be a ready reference for events to come. It can even be better than a calendar because they usually only show a month at a time. As to the conferences I posted--I attended one CMTA conference a couple of years ago in south FL. I can attest that the one I attended was excellent and well worth the cost. It also presented an opportunity to ask questions to the experts and meet dozens of fellow CMT'ers. There were well over 100 with CMT at the one I attended. I am NOT recommending CMTA over any other group and I am sure that other things may be just as good. CMTA had to cancel the New Orleans conference that was scheduled a few weeks ago because not enough people had registered. I had registered and made motel reservations, etc. I know that many of you like myself are on very limited incomes (who ever has enough??) but they are one of the best ways to get expand out knowledge of CMT. I found it sad that only about 15 people had signed up for that one. (just my two cents worth). Please visit my pages at www.angelfire.com/ga2/lamar and sign the guestbook. I live in Louisiana and I can tell you why the conference had to be canceled--Almost all the rooms in New Orleans were booked for the French Quarter Festival and 2 other conventions that were in town. Next time I hope someone checks with the powers that be to pick a better date. I too had registered for the conference, but I had made reservations several months ago for that weekend just to get away for a few days and look for antiques. Guest guest
, I know there was a lot going on, but I had no problem getting reservations about two weeks before. for handicapped rooms at a reasonable rate. I did talk with CMTA about scheduling conferences at times of highest rates. For example the Miami conference is in Nov. A nice time of year to visit there, but thousands of " snow dodgers " know that. ----- Original Message ----- From: C1520@...
