Guest guest
Hi Jeff, Glad you did well with your second shot. I take two tylenol PM the night of my shot and sleep through the night. My sides usually don't come for 24 hours after the shot, but still nothing major. I've found that the fatigue gets worse for me as time goes by. My 7th shot is tomorrow night. Not feeling too well tonight, I think I overdid it today, and I'm also getting over bronchitis. Fun, fun. I didn't have any pain with my biopsy two months ago. They told me to take it easy for a few days, but that's all. I guess every place is different. I didn't have any pain during or after the biopsy, so I was pleasantly surprised. Good luck and keep up the good work. Guest guest
Hi Jeff. I just read your post and I am just amazed at these doctors. I went through my first treatment in 1992 right after the 1st HCV test came out. I was lucky enough to have a lady doctor with big balls. I was in a HMO and she eventually got fired because she wouldnt put up with that gotta keep costs down crap. At that time the Intron was used mainly for carposis sarcoma or something like that. A skin cancer related to HIV. The costs were about $75-$80 per shot, but she ordered the treatment and I got away with the $5.00 co- pay per visit, not per shot. They told me then that I probably had 5 years left on my liver, so 11 years later I'm still kickin. I'm doin' a lot of gabbin' too so let me get to the point. In 1995 I went to a GI clinic to see if there was any way to get into a study. The doctor ordered a liver panel, and then when he got the results he gave me a prescription to help with the constant fatigue (you know what thats all about ya?). When I went down to the pharmacy and pulled out my prescription, I swear to god it was for 1 A DAY VITAMINS! Well that was the last time I saw a doctor without having both barrels loaded. When I go to see a doctor now I am usually more well informed than they are about this disease. When I did my first biopsy, they had to jab me twice because they didn't get enough tissue on the first poke. A week later I had to go back cause they still didn't have enough tissue. 3 days after the second one I was out cutting the lawn. It just wasn't that big a deal. So don't get too discouraged when they tell you stuff. Anything is better than dying. Oh, and anyone reading this that's interested, I was noticing today that the scaly skin from the creature in the hepc lagoon was starting to go away. Thats 6 months after my last shot, so don't give up girls, you'll all be back to your beautiful selves eventually. SEE YA........! > Hello everybody, > I posted about 1.5 weeks ago about my first shot. Guest guest
That's the way its supposed to work... in most cases, according to my doctor. 2nd Shot Hello everybody, I posted about 1.5 weeks ago about my first shot. Well Im glad to report that I took my 2nd shot last night before I went to bed. Also took two Tylenol .5 hours before the shot. Suffered hardly any sides at all. Took a long nap today that was it. So far so good.
Guest guest
Jeff, Wow what a horror story that is with the biopsy. That RN was really off the beam on her information. I'm glad you and your Dr made up. And I'm real glad to hear Shot #2 was a breeze. I hope they are all a breeze. Great genotype you got there too!! Guest guest
Well you’re on the path to recovery!! I hope last night went reasonably well. I know I only managed a couple of hours of sleep the night of my first shot before I was up with the fever for the rest of the night. There was no sleep the next day either, due to a pounding headache, but things improved greatly after that. –dz- [ ] 2nd Shot Okay, we're waiting for the sides, but we're prepared tonight. Shane did his shot @ 7 and took a sleeping pill @ 9. I figure he'll get a good 5-6 hours of sleep before the sides kick in....hopefully he'll sleep through them. If not, he can always take another pill early am to help get him back to sleep or at least relax him. I'll let ya'll know tomorrow how the evening went. Sweet dreams everyone.
