Guest guest
Dear Marta: I'm inclined to agree with you that this is probably an AOL problem (members of not getting all the messages). But for anyone who wants to visit the archives, so as to be able to see what, if anything was missing, the following website is a short-cut, and easier to reach than The short-cut is: /archives.cga/ Click on the days you're interested in. The side-to-side scroll buttons are indeed " horrible " for your and me, but happily, not for our members. Only the moderators of the list need to do all that side-to-side scrolling that quite properly annoys you (and me too). For everyone else, the print is much smaller, and there is no need for side-to-side scrolling. I guess that is your reward for doing all the extra work in moderating the list. The print is so big for the moderators that it runs off the side of the screen. No good deed goes unpunished! <GRIN> But some good news: Not only can everyone read the archives, but we can all download them to our word-processors, and print out as much or as little as we like. So you shouldn't have to do any cutting and pasting, Marta, nor do the rest of us need to either. The technique for downloading varies with each member's server's mail system. Many members are old hands at downloading; others may want to ask, in hopes that at least one member will have the same system, and lend a helping hand. Guest guest
Hi Harry, - Thanks for clearing up my misinformation, when Mark Twain said " Everyone is ignorant, just on different subjects, " he had me in mind! >From: Harry Dewey <harryd@...> >The short-cut is: > >/archives.cga/ >Click on the days you're interested in. But, when I click on the above url, I get the dreaded 404 message: File Not Found The requested URL /archives.cga/ was not found on this server. Has anyone else had this happen? Maybe it is my browser? Hugs, Marta

Guest guest
Dear All: When I received messages from Marta, and , all saying they couldn't access our archives via the URL I supplied recently (and which now appears AUTOMATICALLY as a " banner " at the bottom of EVERY posting, including this one, of course), I was prepared to find that I had made an error. Unfortunately, my own server (CapAccess) is not web-connected, so I had to go to the web via another server, where I have the same URL as a bookmark. When I click on that, it comes right up at the archives site. So it is not a TYPO. Could someone who HAS connected successfully via this URL (see the banner at the end of this message) let us know of es good luck, please? Meanwhile, I presume that you can all reach the ONELIST home page at: Once you get there, you can reach the archives by observing the instructions at the left of the screen and following the instructions on successive screens. The shortcut (for those for whom it works) is a considerable time-saver, and I'm sorry it doesn't work for everyone. I can't believe that I'm the only person on who can use it! But that wouldn't surprise me; computers are full of never-ending surprises. Guest guest
I clicked on the link in your message and got to the onelist.com mailing list page without problem Wishing us all health and freedom from pain, both physical and emotional - P.S. I am using Netscape if that makes any difference and I've downloaded a software program that also does a great job of managing bookmarks from both Netscape and IE4 called Powermarks. It has a free trial so you can try it and if you like it purchase it or use the uninstaller that comes with the program to remove it from your system. Here is link to web site if you want to try the program. http://www.kaylon.com/power.html Harry Dewey wrote: > From: Harry Dewey <harryd@...> > > Dear All: When I received messages from Marta, and , all > saying they couldn't access our archives via the URL I supplied recently > (and which now appears AUTOMATICALLY as a " banner " at the bottom of EVERY > posting, including this one, of course), I was prepared to find > that I had made an error. Guest guest
Hi Harry, Guess what? When I tried it just now, by clicking at the message at the bottom of your email it worked! Is it possible that the page was down earlier when we tried? I am so embarrassed that I did not notice all the important information at the end of the messages, I was too busy deleting them to keep the responses short! , and all, could you give this a try again and let me know if it DOESN'T work. Thanks, Marta --- >From: Harry Dewey <harryd@...> > >Dear All: When I received messages from Marta, and , all >saying they couldn't access our archives via the URL I supplied recently >(and which now appears AUTOMATICALLY as a " banner " at the bottom of EVERY > posting, including this one, of course), I was prepared to find >that I had made an error. Guest guest
Dear Marta There's no need to be embarrassed! It's not only possible that OneList was down when you and the others tried, but very LIKELY. The main thing to remember is that there are two different addresses: THIS ONE is for everything (the one below the dotted line is JUST for our archives) >
