It’s tough to watch our parents

deteriorate. I remember my Grandma died in ’96 and I was flabbergasted. She

was in perfect health, in fact she was taking care of

my mom (who has ms). She was 86 and walked down to the grocery store. A young

girl backed out of her driveway onto College Ave (fairly busy street) and ran over my Grandma. I guess Grandma

stopped, and then the girl backing out of the driveway stopped, so my grandma

proceeded, thinking the girl had seen her. The girl apparently had only stopped

for traffic and had not seen my Grandma. She was with her mother and only had her

temporary driving permit. She was completely distraught and actually fainted at

one point. We didn’t pursue any charges against her. In hindsight, I had

to think that perhaps that wasn’t so bad for my grandma. They assured us

that she was killed almost instantly. She lived 86 years and was hardly sick a

day in her life. She never learned to drive, she walked and bussed everywhere. When

I watch my mom’s body slowly betray her, I pray that she can live her

remaining years before the MS prevents her from meaningful living. Join when

you can and I will be praying for you and your mom and family. –dz-

Sorry guys and gals, been

a long week and just can't get motivated enough to type, but I am reading all,

so remember I am peeking over all of your shoulders.

Trip up to MA was painful,

we put her into hospice and now we wait. She lost all of her swallowing

so feeding is now a problem. Only soft foods which will some day slip

into the lungs and she will developed pneumonia, she won't be in pain though

which was important. Heck it is hard to get old and sure didn't want mom

to live a life of being hooked up to artificial means.

Needless to say I am

depressed over this, but manage to take the train up their myself and

back. Life can be so difficult sometimes. Lynne
