Guest guest
That's right. My dr told me that too. He tried me on it for sleeplessness, but I couldn't tolerate it well. -dz- Terry Long <pawpawto3@...> wrote: Pat, I am on a combo treatment for the Hep C. She also is putting me in touch with a liver specialist for a biopsy to find out how much fibrosis there is in the liver. Do you know what she is talking about here? She thinks I have had hepC for many years and it's only showing up now because she happen to order that test with a bunch of others and got lucky (glad someone did). So far my liver values are normal. I have been having LFT's for years because of some of the meds I take so I know that they have been normal for at least that period of time? Any info is welcome - thanks - Pat [ ] Good morning from AZ Hi all. The Doctor put me back on Amitriptyline this week & I have been a little out of it as I have been adjusting to it. He did give me some good news. He said there was no Hep C detected in my . Said it look's like the treatment is working. But added it was to early to check the liver. To keep on the treatment. Guest guest
It is very tough on the liver and can cause high ALT/AST readings. Obviously it depends on factors I don't know about, but I would definitely bring it up with the dr. -dz- <ralexan@...> wrote: Hi Pat Amitriptyline is an anti depressant used to relieve the depression that can be caused by the interferon. Guest guest
Debbie - my only company is my bed-ridden roommate who has never recovered from a liver transplant 6 or so years ago. I don't know how we are making it - she has an aid, we both have homemakers but I am already concerned about what is going to happen if I get more disabled. If you can get any kind of support (talk to social workers) try to get some - if for no other reason just the comfort of having someone come in once in awhile. Guest guest
Good morning giglebutt. I have been on treatment for three months. Yes it is rough & I have Susy to support me, So I would suppose going through it without any support would even be harder, But do go through it. If you can beat this, it will be worth it. Guest guest
Hi Debbie It is always easier to have some support, but you can do it alone. Just watch out for any depression that might be caused from the medication. You might want to ask your DR. for an antidepressant just to be safe. Start them before you do the treatment. They usually take a couple of weeks to become effective. Remember that we are all here for you. Guest guest
My liver doc is afraid I'll go into a hepatic coma if I take too many of anything...although I do take ambien occasionally(get it from my PCP) I'm hoping to get my dilaudid refilled so I'll have some with me when we take our trip.. I see the liver Dr this coming Fri--tomorrow I have to drive in & get a blood test(had to have it done 4 days prior to seeing him......I'm going to ask him about the dialudid @ that time........If I don't get it from him ---I see PCP on the 14th & I can most likely get it from him..... arlene imaganeer wrote: I found Ambien gave me the best results for sleeping. I just staying up for 24-30+ hours straight before I can sleep .... usually I end up sleeping in the daytime(I don't like this as Ken is home during daytime on Weekends & when laid off! Gastro Dr told me this was just another sign(symptom) of my liver being sooo bad! If it was totally up to him he wouldn't give me anything for sleep or pain...... but I feel it's bad when I can't rest properly--usually this is what brings on the major pains & not just in my liver but all over...including very bad headaches--etc arlene Terry Long wrote: > > > Hi all. Guest guest
They are putting me on thyroid, the meds can cause hypothyroid which makes you very tired. Mine is low. You might ask to have that checked. Sharon --- Terry Long <pawpawto3@...> wrote: > > Good morning all. > > I was a little out of it yesterday no > concentration. Guest guest
Hi Debbie I know it is hard, but I want to suggest that you try not to let this disease get you to depressed. I have found that having a positive outlook on everything seems to help. I'm sure that you will be able to start treatment soon. I'll be praying for you. Guest guest
Hi, Debbie, is quite right; I've been on the treatment about a month now, and I'm finding that having a positive attitude is everything. It would be easy for me to 'run' with the side effects, but I keep in mind why I'm doing this: to get well, to prevent a much worse liver condition, and to avoid being a burden for my spouse, insofar possible, should I get liver cancer, etc. And thank God, there IS a treatment available! Not too long ago there was none. Kind regards, Re: [ ] Good morning from AZ Terry hope you are feeling better today..Not too many have been on today..I wonder how our dear Diane is and how is Dennis's knee and ..Arlene..Jackie..Skyler...Gigglebutt..Mike..Raf.. and to all the others I amy have forgotten forgive me but get your butts in here and say hi to us!!
