Guest guest
Matt, It sounded at first like you feel hypoglycemic but aren't technically. " I am experiencing constant hunger, hypoglycemic like, yet with a stable glucose level.... " But this addition confused me: " ...My diet is in check, oat meal, whole wheat bread, lentils are included everyday, yet blood sugar drops low... " Does your blood glucose meter show 70 mg/dL or below -frequently -infrequently, or -not at all? Or does it show significant decrease within 30-60 min? Your source of carbs looks good. How many carbs do you eat per meal? ~Xian
Guest guest
I'd say 160 cals worth of carbs, and I beleive my glucose is fine after eating, but the adrenals don't allow me to go with out food for longer than an hour. Every time I get a draw my glucose is coming back lower each time. I sure sign my adrenals are getting worse. Most recent glucose non fasting 74. ________________________________ From: d00fu524 <calvin1564@...> Sent: Wed, December 30, 2009 6:09:01 PM Subject: Re: Constant hunger (Hypoglycemia or Symptoms of It) Â Matt, It sounded at first like you feel hypoglycemic but aren't technically. Guest guest
This is odd in that many men with low T have low energy after lunch (perhaps due in part to decreased glucose tolerance), though eating too many carbs can cause reactive hypoglycemia from overproduction of insulin. Though I'm on T now, I can personally vouch for the combination of carbs, fat, and protein as being more filling, whereas carbs alone & /or insufficient protein and fat leave me still hungry. Assuming your meter is working properly and this is a frequent post meal (+1 hour) occurrence, I think you need to visit a doc, tell him about your hunger and show him your log of glucose tests. It sounds like it's time to see a doctor near you who specializes in treating adrenal fatigue. ~Xian > > > From: Matt Obrien <mattobrien71@...> > > Subject: Re: Constant hunger (Hypoglycemia or Symptoms of It) > > > > Date: Wednesday, December 30, 2009, 7:27 PM > > I'd say 160 cals worth of carbs, and > > I beleive my glucose is fine after eating, but the adrenals > > don't allow me to go with out food for longer than an hour. > > Every time I get a draw my glucose is coming back lower each > > time.
