Guest guest
Celia, I don’t know if you are aware of Dame Judi Dench’s involvement in charities:- Charity biography Dame Judi Dench lost her husband to lung cancer in 2001, and is patron of Women Against Lung Cancer, a campaign of the Roy Castle Lung Foundation Judi Dench has supported the following charities: British Forces Foundation Cancer Research UK Dr. Hadwin Trust Epilepsy Action Grace House National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children Neurofibromatosis Association Northampton Welfare Rights Advice Service Roy Castle Lung Foundation SANE White Ribbon Alliance I am hoping to contact her through the Torch Theatre here in Pembrokeshire as she’s Patron of this too (other patrons are Fiona from GMTV – resigned now though but still active in TV, and Connie Fisher - Sound of Music (but doing other work in the entertainment field, both are from Pembrokeshire). I am hoping to get the Torch Theatre to send out leaflets to their mailing list (about 1500) to help give the petition the surge it needs for more signatures (I think they have a mailing list of about 1500) and also to help raise awareness of LDN. Not a great deal but it will help. We’ve had about 500 more signatures on our petition since the conference (about a 25% increase in the last four weeks). I thought if you’re up to it and as you’re suffering from Lung Cancer, perhaps you can write to her at the Roy Castle Lung Foundation about LDN?. Also, there’s a discussion forum on this site which may be helpful for you to participate in. Their website for your quick reference is this http://www.roycastle.org/ They also have a phone number. Was wondering if you might be interested?
