Guest guest
I have had night sweats for over a year and am thankful to all of you who have responded to my questions. I received more than one response suggesting it was too much Estrogen or Estradiol. With this information, I convinced my physician to run a blood test on Estrogen as well as Testosterone, although he did so only to appease me. I told him specifically what tests I wanted for Estrogen (and that fell on deaf ears), he just gave me a test for total Estrogen period. My results came back and he neglected to tell me over the phone how the result for Estrogen came out, only that the results were nothing to be concerned about. I requested a copy of my blood test and was disturbed by the finding, even though my doctor again reassured me that the result was nothing to be concerned about. My total estrogen result was 172 pg/ml. The range on the blood test for normal was 40 -115 for an adult male. First, just how significant is this, and second, I was trying to work with my doctor, I don't know if this is ego, ignorance, or if he truly believes this is nothing to be concerned about. To a point, I was happy with my doctor because he fought with my insurance company to get me the androgel. I also know I can treat myself. Any advise would be appreciated. I have to make my own decisions, but my real concern here is if this test result is significant? If it is, then I guess its time for me to move to some other doctor. Your advise is very much appreciated. Thank you all in advance, Bob Vetcher
