Guest guest
Hello, First post here and would like to get some info regarding testosterone and safety. My doc recently prescribed Test cream (100 mg compounded) taken in 100 ml increments daily. I have not started yet. He also put me on: HC 10 mg (trying to increase) cytomel 5 mcg B5 100 mg C 3000 mg D3 5000 mg magnes glyc 800 mg I am here because I finally had to take disability a month ago since I can no longer concentrate at work affecting productivity as well as home life. I have been changed ever since overworking at the gym one evening about a year ago, basically crashed and never recharged. Symptoms start 1/2 hr to couple of hours after waking (does this sound familiar?). They are jitteriness in arms, shaky internal feeling, foggy thinking, don't want to do anything, mild trembling in all fingers, stiffness in wrists, back of tongue, throat, insomnia, exhaustion, easily tired, tinnitus (comes and goes). If I try to do even mild exercise I feel like there is a peanut embedded in the back of my head and pressure develops above and in my ears. Can be fine for several days (all symptoms abate) then go into this pattern for weeks. The strange thing is if I deprive myself of sleep the next day symptoms are not as severe. All neurology ruled out (4 different neuros and EMGs--various MRIs!). Cardio ruled out (stress test, EKG, echo). Symptoms concentrated from neck down to upper arms, radiating to lower arms and hands. Never had issues with sleep or any of the above crap before the gym incident. I am 39. Cortisol saliva: > > 9:45 am 5.5 (3.7 - 9.5) > 12:19 1.3 (1.2 -3.0) > 8 pm 0.4 (0.6 - 1.9) > 11 pm 0.3 (0.4 - 1.0) > > Ferritin 183 (30-400) > TSH 3.62 (.45 - 4.50) --was 7.37 just 2 weeks ago? > T3 free 3.3 (2.0-4.4) > T3 112 (71-180) > Rev T3 215 (90-350) > T4 Free 1.04 (0.82-1.77) > TPO Ab 8 (0-34) > Anti-Ab <20 (0-40) > Progest 0.4 (0.2 - 1.4) > Estradiol 15.0 (7.6 - 42.6) > Test. Free 7.5 (8.7-25.1) > Test. Serum 334 (280-800) > Dihydrotest. 36 ng/dl (30-85) > PSA 0.9 (0.0-4.0) > PSA Free 0.36 (n/a) > % Free 40 (<5% probability) > D3 25-OH 37.6 (32-100) As far as libido, I have no problem getting erections and with ejaculation. Just don't get the 'morning wood' these days probably b/c of the insomnia. Is it possible cortisol is causing low free testosterone levels? Treatment seems to be by trial and error and I am certainly scared about outcomes and side effects. Should I ask the doc to pursue further testing, which would be recommended here? Thanks very much.
