Guest guest
So I had a hematocrite of 0.60 (Tange: 0.40 - 0.50) on Sunday 11 days ago. Hemoglobin was 18.3 (Range: 13.4 a 17.0). I quit Testosterone gel Saturday before I did that hematocrit, cause a few days earlier we saw the hematocrit/hemoglobin on the rise! Last Thursday, 5 days after the HCT at 0.60, hematocrit was back down to 0.50. I did not fast before that sample. The hematology specialist said it was most likely the gel raising my hematocrit. However, upon testing my hematocrit thos morning at 11 am after 600 ml of plain water, it was a little back up, to 0.55. Hemoglobin is down to 17.80, still a bit high. Should be less than 17.0. it was 18.3 that Sunday 11 days ago. IS THIS MY BODY DRYING UP FROM DRINKING TOO LITTLE SALT? Read on.....!! The last 2 weeks I have not really been doing 1/2 to 1 tea spoon sea salted water daily like I did for 1 year already. With 1 tea spoon daily my Sodium was between 136 and 144. I never really fasted before testing electolytes (but always before testing Thyroid!) so we can't trust those values. The sodium results in thr past year while on sea salt were 99% of the times in range though. Only once or twice a bit low. GP says today: " I give up. Who knows. Try sea salt for a week, then we'll run hematocrit again in 7 days. " GP always told me to avoid extra salt. He feels we Get enough salt in our diets. IMPORTANT: I am extremely curious about salt intake. Even without 1/2 to 1 tea spoon sea salt in my 500 ml bottle of water, my serum sodium is normal at 140. (Range: 137 - 145) GP says: " According to blood samples, you do NOT have an issue retaining or loosing salt. The proof is that your Electrolytes look normal. " I am gonna run a RBC potassium Next week. Answer to the RBC will follow in 4 weeks. I also kept Lethal Lee'd advice in my head and fasted food, salt, meds and vits/mins EXCEPT HC and did Thyroid includih rT3, electrolytes (except oxygen, we don't run that in Norway! Is that an important one?), testosterone, LH, FSH and total cholesterol this morning. Answers in 2 weeks. Sendt fra min iPhone
Guest guest
Why not just donate some blood to bring your hematocrit and hemogobin down instead of stopping testosterone?
