Guest guest
- As we all know, I am NOT a dr. and am just making a suggestion.... Detrol is " medication used to treat an overactive bladder " . I just talked to my pharmacist, whom is wonderful, and he states that it is used for " regulating the urinary valve to help stop the incontinence " . My feeling is is that the spirochetes are settled in that area of your body just like they have settled in my heart area. Being if that is the case, then what you possibly have is an infection (the spirochetes) that are causing the inflammation of your bladder. Dumb ? but, are you on any antibiotics/IV? I have a dear neighbor here that this is how she started w/ her lyme symptoms. Never suspected lyme. Once treated for a long duration of time w/ antibiotics, she is better. Again, I am not trying to dx or even 'tell you what to do', just trying to help. I love the cork comment!!! sue in nj
Guest guest
Dear Sue & All, We've been told by vets & MDs have told me that ehrlichia attacks kidneys - could person with loss of bladder control be experiencing symptoms of ehrlichia??? (Just a thought - not a doc - just sharing what we've been told.) At least in dogs, frequent drinking and urination, as well as incontinence, are MAJOR signs of ehrlichia. Hope this is helpful to all... Blessings, Chris
Guest guest
-- I have the normal 51-yr-old female's bladder control problems occasionally -- haven't noticed any worsening since Lyme, but I have to tell you that, though I'm sorry for your problem, your idea of a cork gave me a very much needed laugh. It's been a rough day. Thanks. I hope someone else has some ideas for you. BTW, a couple of you were discussing Biaxin and panic; I've had panic disorder (unrelated to Lyme) for 30 years -- well-controlled now with meds -- but the Biaxin made it worse. Now I'm on Tetracycline, and though I'm having a really bad herx again , the panic is gone. I wonder, too, why my doc put me on Biaxin knowing my history. Interesting. --charlotte

It made me feel nauseated & I lost all appetite at first, but after losing 55 lbs, I did adjust. It was wonderful losing the weight, feeling slim again, after gaining the unwanted weight from 2 other meds, Anafranil & Celexa. I used to have urinary incontinence and pain. The Elmiron controls all that. I take far less than the recommended dose. Hope this helps, Hugs, a
