Guest guest
>Have you've tried soaking in a warm tub with Epsom salts for around 30 min. I do that when i ache from my eyelashes on down. Right now remember what you can do instead of what you can't do. Try to relax too if you an.I know it is hard for when I am that way i gotta o get up and move around even put my hands out in front of me and say no don't touch or hug me. Husband asks me to make me laugh does my hair hurt, I answer yes sometimes. lie down if you can listen to peaceful music have someone give you a back rub and rub your sore spot if they can touch you without aching. what about doing a massage if you can afford that too. But it important for you to real;ize this too will soon pass then w you will have good day's. What about gentle yoga stretches too they always say exercise even though we are aching.I find that hard to do myself. But what i do since it is just hubby and me now.I tell him i am going inf for a long tub soak anyone calls I will call them back tomorrow then I run a hot bath with 2 Cups of Epsom salts and a dab of lavender to calm me soak 30 min get out pat my skin dry. then go make a cup of chamomile tea and sit in my recliner and let hubby do dinner answer the phone etc if I hurt to much i reach for one for only one of my Oxycodenes I have left over from a surgery in 2006. Dr Told me they are still good. But usually the tub soak and my gabapentin and relaxing in the recliner does it for me. Gentle Fibro Hugs Heidi P.S. I hope more people can come along and give you what helps them. > I cannot stand this muscle stiffness anymore. Guest guest
I know exactly how you are feeling.. I have been in a major flare up for past 3 wks.. I usually just lay down in a dark, quiet place and listen to soft music to clam me.. I know that if I can get myself to focus on something other than the pain for even a few minutes will help me think of what else I can do.. I was just prescribed tramadol today.. i am hoping it will help, as i am a walker and have not been able to for past little while.. Good luck.. Big Gentle Huggss.. Deb muscle stiffness I cannot stand this muscle stiffness anymore. I enjoy doing yoga, but sometimes it hurts just to stretch; to sit down; to stand; to hold up my head. I've been given flexiril, trazadone, tramadol. Nothing helps relieve the stiffness. Any suggestions?__________ NOD32 2513 (20070907) Information __________This message was checked by NOD32 antivirus system.http://www.eset.com
Guest guest
Deb, How long have you been diagnosed with fibromyalgia? Yoga really helps my stiffness, but only when I can do yoga, if you know what i mean. if my body isn't too weak. I am so glad you answered me. Thanks! Christy > > I know exactly how you are feeling.. Guest guest
Heidi, Thank you so much for replying. I will try the epsom salts and lavender. I love how you said " ache from my eyelashes down " because that's exactly what it feels like. Good luck and thanks again. Guest guest
Just a quick aside about the epsom salt baths. I've been doing that myself for a year or so and just recently found out that I'm supposed to be having a shower after the tub to remove the toxins that the salts pull from the skin or else much of the goodness of the soak is lost. Now that I know, I make sure to do this though it is highly inconvenient since my shower is not in my tub but is a separate unit. The other thing is (and this I know from experience being a yoga teacher who also suffers from FM) is that the yoga stretches are much easier if you have the bath first as the muscles are warmed up and can stretch a bit better without as much pain. I try to do a few simple stretches on my bed after the bath while still warm and cozy and in my housecoat. No need to bother getting down on the mat on the floor. Just do some gentle stuff - knees to the side, leg overs, knees to chest, child pose, goddess pose, reclining tree. These are restorative and calming. Leg up the wall pose is also excellent and highly recommended for circulation in the legs. NEVER put your head down below your heart if you have high blood pressure or are weak and fainty from the hot bath. Good luck and keep us posted, Deb -- In dominie , " chrisdee487 " <chrisdee487@...> wrote: > > Heidi, > > Thank you so much for replying. I will try the epsom salts and lavender. Guest guest
This isn't about ALA, but was wondering if you took any magnesium for the muscle stiffness. Magnesium has to do with relaxation of muscles. Magnesium bis-glycinate is an excellent form. Beverly
