- some anecdotal input on CoQ10. I tried it several months ago for about

90-120 days in hopes that it would help me build up some energy (I fall into

the hypo range, not hyper). I had heard a doc discuss it on a public radio

show (The People's Pharmacy). It appears to be important for heart health -

since I have a strong family history of heart disease, I thought I would try

it. It didn't hurt and it didn't seem to help, but it is TERRIBLY expensive so

I stopped using it. Just an FYI, Lydia

Dear ,

I've found the information about Q10 in a little Belgian magazine so I guess

that the name 'Swing levend' means nothing to you. There was mentioned that

the English researcher got a price in 1978 for his research

on co-Q10. And the American Prof. Karl Folkers got the Priestly Medal for

it. So maybe that could be helpful, I hope.

If it is that expensive, I don't know if it is worth a try ...

By the way, could you give me another reference for PABA ? Because in

Belgium I can't find it under that name.

Thank you for all you helpful information.

It's so great that we can stick together and help each other !

I have had ill-effects that I believe were dose-dependent.

60mg x 2 was helpful, but 100mg x 2 made me feel pretty

bad. One reason I went up was the study that indicated

benefits for Parkinson’s, found it dose-dependent:

" In the latest research, 80 Parkinson's sufferers were

randomly assigned to receive coenzyme Q10 at three different

doses, or a placebo. The progressive deterioration in

movement that characterizes the disease was slowed by 44

percent in those who took the highest doses.”

The highest dose was 1200mg!

(See Message 49225)

This may be in part a confirmation of the claims that the

“Q-Gel“ (water-soluble) version multiplies the

bioavailability, so my 200mg would = 800mg or more.

Epic4Health makes the case for the uniqueness of this form:

http://www.epic4health.com/coqdisclaim.html Note that they

are a VERY interested party, as the main vendor. The best

prices are still at Swanson vitamins. (no affiliation)

back low. There is a lot of info out the about doing Statin drugs and how they

don't work and are not anygood for you. But when you have Heart Bypass sugary

what do you do. I am on 50 mgs a day to start when I do my next labs if still

low will go up to 100 mgs a day. Hardasnails says to use this kind.

uquinol

Best place to get it is LEF.org good brand need 100 mgs 2 times a day .jarrow is

good as long as it is trade name Q-kaneka.

Coenyzme in the blood serum will not show only in FIA spectracell which is only

55 bucks with medicare

I was not able to tolerate statins well. I'd get muscle pain and

arthritic pains in my neck and shoulders.

CK enzymes went through the roof. But with CoQ I find I can tolerate

them better. Nurse told me it counteracts some of the negative effects

of statins and that's been my experience. though I did note I bought

one brand that was worthless.

I am between a rock and a hard place on this I need to be on statins and my dose

was 40 mgs not doing 20 the pain is not so bad but my Co-Q10 levels went down so

I am taking a supplement like Hard says and next week will do labs and see if I

need more.

I get my Growth Hormone meds tomorrow and that night start on it I pray this

helps I am not getting my strength back as good as I would like. It only took

me 7 weeks to get Caremark to approve paying for it.

After having Heart bypass sugary I can't take a Chance not taking them meds.

Grouch, Dock put me on 50000 units vitamin D3 for thirty days, then once a week,

to lower psa levels, also said to take

CoQ w/ it.

Uro threatens to take me off T if psa levels increase, they were 7, so I am

working to lower PSA. But they have been as high as 25, too much sexual

activity. When I went to every other day, they fell to 5.

kind regards david a
