Guest guest
Marc, I have gained 40 pounds since being on T and HC. Not sure if it is the HC or the T converting to E (my E is pretty high). So, looks like I'm an anomaly. Guest guest
Mike,.....is HC hydrocortisone? If so I would imagine that is where most of yours is coming from. I guess I am an anomaly as well, since I seem to be losing weight from low T.
Guest guest
With low T your going to take longer to recover from an infection my Dr. would give me bigger shot of Test C when I got an infection but at the time it was bladder infections from BPH. Guest guest
I never gained weight on HC I lost it and I feel I did because it made me feel more engery no more fatigue. I started getting out and about more and walking in time I got so much better I started back in the Gym working out. Guest guest
Yeah, if you're on the correct amount for you, it doesn't cause weight gain. I'm probably on too much, and, fortunately, my new doc and I are working on getting me down to a lower dose. Guest guest
It might have been me.I went from almost 6-2, 250's to 179 on a very low carb way of eating.I still eat exactly the same way.But my test levels went just below 300 and libido sucked.Since being on test for 8 mths I have muscled up tremendously.Weight this morning was 194.Flat belly.33 waist from a 42. So I went from a lean 179 to a lean 194 but now i am pretty ripped for someone almost 55.The low carbs got me looking good in clothes, now I look good naked.Far cry from the fat, soft guy 18 mths ago. Guest guest
Good for you Phil. I hope I'm in that good of shape when I turn 55. I'm seeing Dr. C now, so I'm sure he'll have me in tip top shape in a few months. Sure would be nice to get back into the gym and running again. I still have to complete my fisrt Ironman before I turn 40 (inside bet my college teammate and I made while in college). Guest guest
Phil this is great news keep it up. I am not doing so hot losing weight and for my heart I need to. I lost 60 lbs went from 300 to 240 when I was in a coma for 17 weeks having problems for Heart Bypass surgery. Now it's all back on me I am looking into the HCG diet. I have talked to men on TRT all reading on HCG like my self that lost 80 lbs on this diet. You do a 125 IU's shot of HCG force eating fats and things for the first 3 days if you have been on a bad diet. You do this to build up fat shores. Then you go on a 500 cal. diet for 40 shots. People are not hungery on this diet the HCG makes your Diencephalon in your brain make your body live off your storage fat so your not hungery and you can lose 1 to 2 lbs a day. One needs to follow this diet with a Dr. I am looking into this. http://www.9news.com/rss/article.aspx?storyid=139690 Co-Moderator Phil > From: phil <phildude43@...> > Subject: Re: Question about weight and low T > > Date: Friday, June 25, 2010, 6:05 PM > It might have been me.I went from > almost 6-2, 250's to 179 on a very low carb way of eating.I > still eat exactly the same way.But my test levels went just > below 300 and libido sucked.Since being on test for 8 mths I > have muscled up tremendously.Weight this morning was > 194.Flat belly.33 waist from a 42. Guest guest
Have been on TRT for 7 months and have been steadily losing weight about 1-2 pounds a month, morning wood has returned, libido thru the roof, losing belly. But lost a great relationship because of ED, so can't say about how that or if that part has improved. Guest guest
Jim men don't lose a great relationship due to ED my wife and I got through it for 10 yrs. I think if they are going to go bad they always find a reason for this and ED is one. You might be better off. Guest guest
Sounds like it was the 'other' Phil I was thinking of. Well you were on a specific diet, so losing weight makes sense. About 6 months ago I weighed about 195. I was six feet tall on the nose, but my bad lower back has dropped me to 5'11 " over the past couple of years. At 195 I was carrying too much fat around the gut area, so I dropped down to about 185 which is a pretty good weight for me. Since then I have been losing a small amount on a regular basis, and now weigh about 178. I seem to be so tired all the time that often I really don't feel hungry, and force myself to eat. I guess because of that I am eating less than normal even though it doesn't seem that way to me. I have lost muscle size in my legs, as well as my arms so that is some of it too. Still have decent tone, but the muscles are definitely getting smaller and weaker. Who knows,......I may find out that I have a thyroid issue as well. I am looking forward to getting the tests done after seeing the doc on 7/8.
Guest guest
No Thyroid one gains weight unless they are Hyper to high. I have seen this before people lose weight and then can't stop losing. I think there Metabolic rate goes why up and there body is burning up every thing you eat. I would love to have this problem just try to eat force your self so your not tired all the time take some B-12 and Vit. D with a Multi Vit. this helps. Guest guest
Phil,.....I am thinking I might be 'hyper' if anything. If not then it has to be related to my low T somehow, and the fact that I am so tired after doing the physical work I have to do. It's tough to stuff your face when it's 98 degrees, and about 105 with the heat index added in. I eat my biggest meal in the evening for sure. Mornings I don't eat much because I am heading out into the heat,......lunch I don't eat much because I am in the heat. You get the drift. You probably have a point about my metabolism though. Stress can make you burn calories very fast, and I have plenty of that. It's far worse now with the feelings of weakness and loss of strength from the low T, and the ration of crapola I keep getting from docs. While I don't want to get fat by any means, I really don't want to lose any more weight at this point. My BMI is just now at the high end of normal, but I think those things are made for scarecrows or something. To be midrange it says I should weigh about 158,.......give me a break! Guest guest
Marc, In college, I dated a girl who was getting her masters in nutritional science and she is now a nutritionist at the Olympic Training Center in Colo. Springs. She always said that you should eat like a King at breakfast, a prince at lunch and a popper at dinner. Meaning, eat your biggest and highest caloric meal at breakfast and taper it down throughout the day. This is the most natural and healthiest way to eat for your body. Guest guest
Mike,....I know that is the consensus, but is just something I have never been able to do. I don't like eating a lot in the morning due to the fact I get up so early, and it makes me feel even more tired if I stuff my face before working. I know I do things in reverse, plus I often eat quite late and go to bed soon after. I am surprised that hasn't made me fat to be honest with you. I guess I am a weird bird per se. > > > > > > > > > > > Phil,.....I am thinking I might be 'hyper' if anything. > > If not then it has to be related to my low T somehow, and the fact that I > > am so tired after doing the physical work I have to do. > > > > It's tough to stuff your face when it's 98 degrees, and about 105 with the > > heat index added in. Guest guest
Marc, if the food you eat makes you tired, you may have a food allergy. The most common being gluten. A lot of people are gluten sensitive and don't even know it. Something you may want to consider investigating at some point.
