Guest guest
Temp fluctuation is supposed to mean low cortisol. Low temps mean low thyroid. Morning basal should be 97.8-98.2 and daily average about 98.6 Barb > > Tuesday 10/19 : > > 6:30 AM : 97* > 11 AM : 97.4* > 4:30 PM : 98.1* > 9:30 PM : 97* > > Wednesday 10/20 : > > 8 AM : 96.3* > 11 AM : 97.4* > 10 PM : 97.2* > > Thursday 10/21 : > > 5 AM : 96.5* > 10:30 AM : 97.6* > > Just as I thought, it fluctuates and is low. Guest guest
Armour types are good. Has your ferritin been tested? Free T3, Free T4, TSH, etc.? Dose is individual and can range from 1/2 grain to 5 grains, usually. Thyroid meds have to be titrated up slowly. The reason you'd get thyroid labs is to see if you make any T4 and if your problem is that you don't convert to T3, vs. you don't make T4 to start with. Guest guest
Joe first let me say you need to be up 3 hrs before you start to take your temps. When we wake up the temps are lower. So going by your 11am through 9:30 pm your avg. is 97.5 for 10/19. And your avg. for 10/20 is 97.3 not counting your morning temp. I was like this when I first started on Cortef HC 20 mgs / day 5mgs 4x's / day. But the way your doing this is not right you need to take your temps starting when your up 3 hrs then every 3 hrs 3x's a day. The add them up and div. by 3 this is your avg. if your temps go up or down more then 2 ths. your adrenals are not supported it can be you need to go up on the dose or to give it more time. Read this link on how I did this and the links in this. http://forums.realthyroidhelp.com/viewtopic.php?f=5 & t=24 It took me a good yr. to get my Thyroid levels right after I was doing enough HC. When I started my avg. temp was under 95.8 when I was leveled and feeling good my avg. was 98.4. I'd like to get that down to under 50. I've heard it can damage my Hep C liver. Here's the recent results of some blood work. The MD said " my thyroid tests look good " but according to my temps, something is surely not too good. 8/13/2010 : T3 Free 3.30 [2.3 - 4.2] T4 9.4 [5.0 - 12.5] TSH 1.78 [0.350 - 4.500] Free T4 .91 [0.80 - 204.0] T3 156.50 [80.0 - 204.0] Estradiol was 10.10 [0 - 52] Joe

I'll save this reply for reference. A mistake I recently made was cutting back on HC. I thought I was going to " heal " and need less HC, but with chelating every week with ALA, I was putting a burden on my adrenals, I believe. If I am to continue ALA for chelation for another 18 months +/-, I will need 30 to 40 mg of HC a day. I wouldn't attempt to do it without plenty of HC. I'm going to have to cross my fingers that my holistic MD will allow me to use the HC dose that I feel I need, which is at least 30 mg a day right now [10+10+5+5]. That's good how your temps average out so good now. I hope I can do the same. I'd like to improve my brain and mood function. Maybe the Preg cream will help with that. Guest guest
Your total T4 and T3 actually look good. But your Free T3 and Free T4 are a little low, but not that bad. That means something is binding up the hormones, but your estradiol is low, not high. You said you have hepatitis C? Thyroid conversion is done in the liver, so don't know if that's a factor here. If SF stands for serum ferritin, 146 is a good number for a man. Dr. no says it should be +-150, because it's involved in a lot of biochemical reactions, thyroid conversion, and liver detox pathways. How's your Vit D, B12? > > > > Armour types are good. Has your ferritin been tested? Free T3, Free T4, TSH, etc.? Dose is individual and can range from 1/2 grain to 5 grains, usually. My Vit D 25-hydroxy test shows : 39 [30-89] NMD put me on 1000 iu of D3 in Summer and 2000 iu of D3 in the Winter. My B12 is : 424 [211-911]. He said he'd like it up in the 600 to 800 range. He put me on 1000 mcg Sublingual B12 daily. I take Sublingual Total that has Folic acid, B2, B3, B5, B6 and 1000 Mcg of B12. I was a tad low in Copper : 64 [70-165] so he put me on 2 mg of Cu daily, with 25 mg of Zinc. Joe
Guest guest
Joe in order to keep my Vit. D levels up I take 10,000 IU / day I use drops and put them on the back of my hand and lick it off. http://tinyurl.com/37qakvo If you get this make sure it's 2000 IU per drop I find this is the best if you have trouble sleeping at night try 2 drops before going to bed it helps you sleep.
