Hi everyone, thanks for this group.

Basically, I saw a doctor about a month ago and he told me my " free " T level was

low, really low, like the level of a 70 year old man or so. Maybe a bit

younger, but it wasn't younger than 60 when I looked it up. I'm 29 by the way.

I was really concerned. I didn't have the stem or root test, or whatever it was

called, because that would have cost me nearly $100 or so, if I remember

correctly. Even so, I don't see how that T level could be normal. I'm in

fairly good shape (like 5'11 " and about 150, so I'm definitely on the skinny

side), and have no previous health issues that I know of. I have been a

vegetarian for about 15 years, and do have a slight vascularity on one testicle

(and have been wearing tighty whiteys my entire life, which I changed two days

ago.)

The reason I saw the doctor was because I was concerned about erectile

dysfunction. I had gotten a girlfriend (the first time in nearly a year or so),

and our first two times were not particularly successful. I wanted to nip the

problem in the bud, so I got viagra. ...I didn't have time to waste. I'd be

seeing my new girlfriend the next day.

Anyway, the viagra worked well (I eventually ordered 60 pills offline), but it

led to its own problems. I think I eventually became a bit psychologically

dependent upon it. I want to get to the point where I no longer need it, and I

have a very strong suspicion my T level is the problem.

Basically, I look a good bit younger than I am. I'm 29 and I look 24 or so. No

real hair on my chest. I've been a vegetarian since 15, so maybe that has

something to do with it (no plans on eating meat.) I've also been having a bit

of social anxiety, and was wondering/hoping if testosterone might help me with

that.

Anyway, I was wondering if the people here could give me some help. I agree a

doctor would be good, but I don't really have the money right now, and I'm

betting a lot of the official treatments would cost a lot of money. Also, I

don't really see what the draw backs could be. Testosterone is a natural

chemical, and it seems a lot better to try something like that than Paxil or

whatever.

So, where can you order this stuff? I want the real thing, and I heard that

natural supplements don't really work as well. Are there any things that work

better than others? Major side-effects? Good places to order from, (I'm very

nervous about this)? Gels vs. injections? Do people think about my story as

showing signs of low T, (by the way, erection quality was not too great, that's

why I got the viagra in the first place)?

Thanks so much.

Thanks a lot, Phil. I really appreciate it.

I think I'm going to see a Dr. soon (and I will post my figures.) I have a

feeling this is a bit complicated and/or sensitive for me to mess around with on

my own.

One last question, I've been masterbating every day for about the last 10 years.

Does this have an effect on erection quality or testosterone? I believe most

men do it a bit less, but I'm not entirely sure. Sorry, I know that's a bit

off-topic, but just curious.

It's not a problem good for you if you don't use it you lose it. Some men as

there Testosterone levels get low and there Estradiol levels go to high can't

keep it for strong for sex and this is all they have left. I suffered from this

problem in my 50's for about 10 yrs so we needed to use a pump to pump it up and

a ring to keep it up for sex with my wife but I could not reach an orgasm with

this ring on so when she was happy we finished by hand. Today I have all my

hormones leveled and feel like sex everyday at 66 problem is when women get

older they don't feel this way.

Does the varicocele affect anything?

I'm sorry. I just can't really in good conscience stop being a vegetarian right

now.

Yes it can and it can make your T levels low. I don't feel you need to stop

your way of eating there are a lot of men that eat this way and are fine just

stop SOY if your eating a lot of it.

Here is a long thread about varicocele and low T at this link.

Phil,.......a lot of it depends upon whether he is a 'vegetarian', or a true

'vegan' per se.

A vegan will not drink cows milk, eat eggs, nor will they even take a fish oil

capsule. ANYTHING that is made from an animal is out for them. Including protein

powders made from whey, or egg.

What does that leave,.......SOY!

Most get their protein from soy BTW. Terrible for men as you know.

A friend of mine dated a vegan many years ago. She was the sickliest looking

individual I had ever seen, and was constantly spouting her vegan views to the

rest of us. Most vegans are also PETA members as well.

As I said before,.....it's a free country for the time being. His choice about

his own life for sure. If he is a vegan though, his lifestyle is a killer,

especially for a male. Virtually nothing they eat has any fat in it.

Vegans think they are going to change what happens to animals somehow by

participating in that lifestyle. If it makes them feel better,.......have at it,

but nothing is going to change in terms of what they want to happen.

Now if he is a 'vegetarian' due to very bad genes concerning his heart and

lipids,.....many people try this approach out of fear, and I can understand

that. Most vegetarians will eat salmon though, as they know it is good for their

heart and lipid profile. They will also drink skim milk for the protein, vitamin

D, and calcium.

The 'no meat' statement says vegan, and PETA to me, and he is eating a lot of

soy if that is the case.

It's hard to say you might be right but I do know a vegetarian diet will not

give a man low T. Now a vegan diet I have yet to talk to one or do I know all

that much about it. I do know there are a lot of them and they don't have

health problems so some of them do it right.

Lowers testosterone and impairs fertility, and is *progressive*.

For example, lets take two guys, one of whom has a varicocele (Bob) and

one of whom doesn't (Tim).

Let's track their total testosterone over time

Age 20

Bob--567

Tim--523

Age 25

Bob--433

Tim--529

Age 30

Bob--323

Tim--510

Age 35

Bob--211

I'm more of a lacto-ovo vegetarian than a vegan. I eat eggs and cheese. I was

going to say that I don't eat much soy, but then I realized that I drink soy

milk every now and then (instead of regular milk.) I really just eat like a

normal person, but without the meat.

Also, what do you guys think about these shots? I'm planning on seeing the

doctor tomorrow, but I'm set on at least giving something a try. I saw that

Androgel is sold online. You guys have any recommended dealers? Is there

anyway to give yourself the shots to save money?

Thanks.

If your Dr. is going to put you on TRT and you want shots start with 100mgs

every week get him to show you how to do them your self here is a link about it

do them in your thigh. But read the info part of this link.

http://spotinjections.com/index3.htm

Go to www.allthingsmale.com and read TRT: A Recipe for success in this are labs

you needed and how to do TRT shots should not be done every 2 to 3 weeks this

dose not work and is old. If you do shots every weeks or 2x's a week is best.

I use a small 27g 1ml x 1/2 " lg. needle not pain with this been doing it this

way for yrs.
