I hope you will follow up on this. Most interested to see if it works or if

there are unwanted side effects.

I sometimes go to Mexico to buy drugs for my 18 year old labrador

retriever.

Stuff that the vet charges $1 per pill here costs $0.15 per pill across the

border. So, I went down today to the pharmacy that I usually go to. The

pharmacist knows me, and that the meds are for my dog. He was out of the

stuff, and referred me to a veterinarian couple of blocks away. I went into

the Mexican veterinary office, and asked for one of her drugs. No problem,

they had it. Then I asked for another drug she uses which prevents urinary

incontinence. It is phenylpropanolamine, which was once the active

ingredient in dexatrim over the counter. When dexatrim was banned, the stuff

was unavailable for about a year leaving folks with incontinent older dogs

the choice of having a real mess on their hands, of finding it overseas, or

putting their dogs down. There is now a veterinary version which is a

chewable tablet.

Anyway, they did not have the PPA, and this vet had never heard of it. He

asked what it was used for. I told him incontinence for my older dog. He

asked if she was spayed. He explained to me that the reason that she was

incontinent was a loss of muscle tone due to hormone deficiencies. He pulled

out a 10 ml bottle of Test C, 250/ml, and advised me to inject her with 1 ml

per week for two weeks, and then 1 ml every two weeks after that.
