Guest guest
I just got my latest script of Novarel. It says to take 100 units daily intramuscularly. My confusion is because the insulin syringe I use for this is marked in units. Each syringe is 50 units. Do I inject two whole syringes? That would be 100 units. That seems like a lot. Any ideas? Thanks. Jim
Guest guest
How many IU is the HCG? If it is 10,000IU and you mix in 10ml of BAC water then 100IU would be 0.1ml or 10 units on a insulin syringe. On a insulin syringe 100units=1ml. ________________________________ From: jimdetroit <jmosrite@...> Sent: Sun, November 8, 2009 5:54:18 PM Subject: another question about HCG dosage  I just got my latest script of Novarel. Guest guest
Be clear not to confuse insulin units with IUs of hCG. There are several threads which discuss hCG reconstitution but I'll lay this out for you. Starting with say a 10,000 IU vial/ampoule of hCG powder, you want to add bacteriostatic water. If you want to dose 100 IU hCG each dose, the 10,000 IU container will yield 100 doses (10,000/100). [You will quickly see that at this dosing level you will have too much hCG to be used within 30-days, next time buy smaller amounts] You want to add a volume of water that will create a suitable liquid dose and have a convenient division. I would consider disolving this much hCG in 10ml water. This yields 1000IU per ml, or 100IU per 0.1ml Using a u-100 insulin syringe you need to know that each 100 insulin units are equal to 1ml. To measure 0.1ml, you draw 10 units on the syringe scale. With your small dose requirement, a 3/8ml syringe is large enough since it can deliver up to 30 insulin units (u-100) More realistic for a daily 100IU hCG shot is getting the hCG in 2000IU vials. These containers will yield 20 doses. Using 2.0ml water to reconstitute your dose would be 10 (u-100) units. [A 5000IU vial will yield 50 doses.... so then you need to determine the break point for cost since only 30 doses would be usable] > > I just got my latest script of Novarel. Guest guest
ok, thanks,it is a 10,000 unit vial of novarel that i mixed with 10 ml of BAC water. I thought 100 units as marked on the insulin syringe seemed way too high! Jim From: brianee93@... Guest guest
Jim some where on this syringe it says how much it holds 1cc or 1ml. A unit on this sryinge should be part of the 1cc or 1ml total that it holds. So there is 100 Units in 1cc or 1ml. Novarel is 10,000 IU's in 10 mls. or 10cc's so to do a 100 IU shot you need to draw to the 10 units mark tis is not the same as IU's. Your needle hold 1cc total this full is 1000 IU's the half mark is 5 this would be 500 IU's the first 10 mark is 100 IU's. What you have is a needle that holds 1cc and it has 100 marks or it's div. up into 100 parts.
