Guest guest
Hi everyone, Marta, when I was young, I remember spraining my ankles a lot, but I was sure a tomboy, climbed the highest trees, & hung upside down dropping my hands. Sure was fun. my bro & sis & neighborhood kids played games like tag & hide-n-seek, I could run then. I had scoliosis when I was 9 yrs old, but Drs. at that time didn't know what it was, thought I had had Polio, lots of x-rays & stint in hosp., (17 days), then a cast from under arms to hips for I think 8 weeks, I was good as new again. They say Scoliosis is associated w/ CMT, but Drs. didn't know about CMT then either. I was just dx. w/ it in 1996. Now, I am 61, & lots of hurting, mostly on bottom of feet,( burning pain), happens when walking on hard floors. Pain can be unbearable, stopswhen I sit for awhile. I have Arthritis, that counts for a lot of my pain, & I'm quite positive you don't have to worry about that for 40 yrs or so. I have an appt. at Neurologist that helped me get my disability, (haven't seen him since Oct.1998), but will see him & get a letter stating i have CMT to send to MDA for appt. Hopefully MDA can help me w/ AFOs to keep feet from hurting & help my balance. Anyway, Marta, I think your youth is your stability in keeping your CMT mild. Good luck to you, & God Bless you & your family. Sincerely, Patsy

Guest guest
> Funny! Last night I had a dream I was shopping at my usual market, and it had turned into an " NT " market, and only held NT compatible stuff. It still had a huge produce section, but most of the rest of the store had gone away. In my dream I was thinking how much easier it was to shop now because I didn't have to do all that walking! > > Heidi Schuppenhauer > Trillium Custom Software Inc. > heidis@t... Now isn't that the truth! I get exhausted running all over out super Wal Mart and it would be so much faster and easier if all the products were " NT " compatible. It takes me 3 hours sometime! Guest guest
I solve the " running all over the grocery store " business with a personalized shopping list (a word processing file) that is in store aisle order, with just the things I normally buy. I run thru the list before I go shopping to mark what I need, and then whiz thru the store in minimal time. Of course I get less and less at the grocery store because I have a food co-op where I get most things now. Guest guest
Hi all I know there have been postings about this but I cannot find one in the archives that I am looking for. I was wondering if anyone knew of a website where I could purchase the adrenal gland test. I saw Great smokies but they require a doctor to order it. Are there any that do not? Thank you in advance for any help... Lynn ---------------------------------

Guest guest
You need to get a prescription to get Armour. http://www.armourthyroid.com/ Some people think that Wild Yam Cream helps them. You can purchase this in the health food store. Others seem to need natural progesterone cream. http://www.infertilityworkshop.com/articles/hormonalhealth/thyroid.htm Sometimes it's very hard to figure out what's really wrong with you. Finding a good doctor would probably help you. Do you have insurance? I've only lived here a couple of years, & still haven't found a doctor I like. Guest guest
Just to alert everyone that my Norton Antivirus did pick up the Bugbear Virus this morning which has been dealt with but since I had eight emails I am not sure which one was infected - most of which I did not open anyway. My emails are scanned before they go out. In message <1033742821.308.68619.m12 >, SENATE- HVSN writes > >

Guest guest
Hi Jerry I said thanks as I always thank people that are kind enough to reply and help me..but I did have a look at the book on Amazon and also the opinions of quite a few people that had bought the book.. not sure yet if I would chance getting it..as I do already have a few raw books. one by alissa cohen actually and sorry the other two temporarily escape me! I am having trouble getting excited about raw..as I perceive its a much more narrow spectrum of foody enjoyment..and raw food in the winter doesn't appeal..but never mind I continue to seek! Guest guest
California has a great reputation for having lots of great, fresh produce. Living there, anyone would have an easier time doing a 100% raw foods diet, to be sure. Our health store here (50 miles from Philadelphia near Reading, Pennsylvania) have produce from and " organic co-op " . We are on the very edge of Amish farming territory and those foods come from these farmers. The power blender (called Vita-Mix) makes a raw diet easier and fun. I still credit the no book for really introducing me to the IDEA of raw. That's how I found the Sprout People to order from -- I decided to take up some of the author's ideas. This is basically why I started to discuss his book. Of course he uses sprouts. I don't understand the reviews, some of them, on amazon of " RAW " -- I think these people missed the whole point of the book. I'm not trying to get anyone to use it, but I think of all the books on raw, this one had a more realistic approach and the recipes were not just compiled in a book to make for book sales. You can tell the author really believes in this way of eating -- and the recipes are " from the heart " , i.e. from a dedicated raw food enthsiast. Plus the pictures and recipes are really quite good. I've had the book for almost a month and still find it a joy. I just saw another book today and was reading all the reviews at amazon. They are very favorable. I don't know if sprouts recipes are in it, though. It is supported by the American Institue for Cancer Research. I'm going to look at one next time I'm in the book store -- here's the amazon link if you would like to view it : http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/customer- reviews/0520242343/ref=cm_cr_dp_2_1/104-0740090-8883115?% 5Fencoding=UTF8 & customer-reviews.sort%5Fby=-SubmissionDate & n=507846 The title is : The New American Plate Cookbook Does anyone have a suggestion for a good SPROUTS cookbook ? That would be interesting. Incidentally, not only is going raw fun -- I really feel so much better after a few weeks. I can't believe it almost. If you ever have the chance to go raw for a while, take it up. You have to go almost 100% raw for this to work right, though. The only really hard part is breads and crackers, I guess, but having the power blender helps very much. You can always make a weak veggie or fruit drink. The 2 horsepower motor breaks open the cell walls and you feel so great from anything you eat -- you know all you have to do is pop some raw food in there with water, and your body is going to say " thanks " and really mean it. I tend to ramble on and on. HAPPY NEW YEAR to all ! ! ! Jerry
