Guest guest
I don't know why Dr.'s say see an Endo they don't know much about low Testosterone let alone Pituitary Problems. You need to call this Dr. and ask questions first like how many men dose he treat for low Testosterone and dose he check for high Estradiol and if so use Arimidex. And will he treat a Pituitary problem with HCG. Also how many people dose he see with a Pituitary Problem. Look for a Pituitary Dr. one that is a DO and read this link and the site about pit problems. http://forums.realthyroidhelp.com/viewtopic.php?f=12 & t=15451 One question are you on TRT and testing LH and FSH when you add Testosterone to your body your brain shuts down your LH and FSH messages to your Testis and it is not a Pituitary Problem. And also if you have High levels if Estradiol you can end up with low LH and FSH levels. http://jcem.endojournals.org/cgi/content/full/89/3/1174 I went 23 yrs seeing one Dr. after the other because having low T and being on TRT I never felt great. I was told by Dr.'s I am Primary meaning my testis don't work. I see 7 Endo's and not one seen I am Secondary and have a Pituitary Problem. Take my word for it don't waste your money and time with Endo's and Uro's unless they can tell you they treat a lot of men for this problem. Go to this link and read my story. In this link is a link to it. http://forums.realthyroidhelp.com/viewtopic.php?f=5 & t=9239 Co-Moderator Phil > From: Nitti <bk_nitti@...> > Subject: I may have pituitary problem. > > Date: Saturday, May 1, 2010, 8:51 AM > My urologist suggest i see an > endocrinologist because my LH and FSH is so low, I don't > have the exact numbers but he said they were very low. Guest guest
Philip Dont be so dismissive of the Endocronologist; they are the Pituitary gland experts. If this guy has a pituitary problem then thats the guy he should be seeing. As your problem is as you claim, with your testies, then maybe the endo was not the right person to fix your problem. But he should have at least been able to tell you the prob wasnt with your PG. For me, it was the right person, and incidently the only one who actually took any " real " notice and gave povided an understanding of all the things I had been complaining about for the last 2 decades that the other Dr had fobbed of as " growing older " . Guest guest
I have a Pituitary Problem due to a head injury it was them Endo's I seen that told me I am Primary meaning my Testis don't work. If he can find a good Endo that treats people for Pituitary Problems this go for it. I never found one and every one I was sent to see took me off TRT. I don't need to say what this dose but seeing Endo's they all took me off TRT for labs that would not tell them anything. You can't put someone on TRT then take them off it to run labs your shut down from the TRT. Just read the story from the link I posted about this 23 yrs of seeing Dr.'s that kept telling me I am Primary with I am Secondary of all them Dr. 7 of them were Endo's. My low LH and FSH were down to a pituitary problem ('empty sella syndrome') that took nine months to diagnose. If he or she doesn't mention MRI, then make sure that you do. Guest guest
Most endo's especially if they belong to any type of HMO have big brother looking over there shoulder and therefore have no latitude in how they approach your treatment. As a life long type 1 diabetic I have seen more than my share of Endo's but when it came to my pituitary problem NONE of them could figure it out....So as most of youhave done, I educated myself and set out to find a good Endo....because I do not have a choice...most doctors are scared to death of my type of diabetes.... what I have found now is that good endo's do not accept insurance...fortunatly I have access throough work to a good PPO plan. My endo treats me with Armour, HC, and bio-identicals she is more of a partner in my treatment...but once I heard that she is open to Armour I knew i was on the right track when I made an appointment.... My pituitary issue was diagnosed by The Pituitary Center at Stanford with a GH stim test....these tests can be tricky but if you get one you will have no argumentabout your condition going forward...I did have a MRI with/without contrast dye..it show nothing...but then this is typical if you have pituitary problems from as head injury.... He will only treat me for growth hormone because as he says he knows nothing about diabetes...thank god! because we do not see eye-to-eye on thyroid or other hormones....my Endo and I just keep working away at balancing the rest of my stuff and I keep getting stronger and better....Men need TRT and Women need Bhrt it keeps us heathy and alive!!!! I saw well over 7 doctors in a span of 5 months all of them endo's in order to find a good doctor...many many frustrating appointments later I found a jewel of a doctor...it is not easy, Phil is right most suck... but there are a few good ones out there.... you need to interview the doctor... they work for YOU if they are not going to treat you in a manner you are comfortable with then why bother.... I will not even rant about the ones that nearly killed me...you must be strong and know what you want before you arrive...if you have a pituitary issue you must understand that the medical establishment still believe it is a rare condition (it's not). Good luck... Judy

Guest guest
Boy I can relate....I also use a lot of sea Salt to keep my sodium up...I saw a cardiologist and he wanted me on a low sodioum diet....but my fluid retention is not related to sodium intake it is related to hormonal imbalance...I am still balancing my bhrt. He gave me water pills but all it does it flush out the sodium and doesn't seem to dent the fluid build up.....grrrrr My BP was up too high and I did a lot of experiments and discovered my HC was too high...once I reduced it (wasn't exercising at the time) my BP came down again... On another subject I was thinking about your experinece with GH and E2. You know that estrogen reduces the IGF-1 reading and increases GH...as I recall....I was wondering if in men...when ever they exercise and they release more GH if some of it does convert to E2 and this is the reason E2 bounces around so much for you guys....and my husband... It is an interesting idea to research. Maybe someone else has some insight.... I used to belong to a group of peopel all taking GH and they all expeience similiar problems when they tried to start at higher amounts...what groupls have you been talking too....i had a hard time finding any GH support groups. also had to give up because she started high and had all kinds of side effects. Guest guest
AT Dr. 's forum there are a lot of men on HGH they even do the kind that makes your body make it. http://www.musclechatroom.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=2 I was on HGH 3 weeks when my Thyroid went hyper so I was not exercising this gave me some bad Panic Attacks not the cause of them if it feels like one I will have one. My IGF-1 levels shot up after my first 3 shots of HGH to the top of the range this is why my Dr. did not up my dose to .4 mgs he was going to start me at this dose but felt it would be better to start low. I started on TRT at age 38 never had Estradiol checked but at the time was having bad problems with panic attacks and taking Xanax for it. I never had problems with my sex life until I hit my mid 50's and this went on for many yrs. Then the pill Viagra came out and it did nothing for me but make me sick. I was 59 when I had my estradiol tested it come back over the top of the range and at the time it was a test for women there were no tests for men just a range. At the time I had BPH, ED, Orgasm Problems, bad Rashes on my legs and sides of my chest, if I ate shell fish I broke out in hives, I had bad Panic Attacks, felt hot and would sweat all yr. round, looked red on the upper part of my body and face, had sore and hard nipples, brain fog, and would hold a lot of water and my sleep was very bad. When I went on Arimidex it took me 8 weeks on .5 mgs every other day to get my Estradiol down to where it was in the top of the range. Still not feeling better so we upped the dose to .5mgs everyday then in about 6 weeks my levels came down the first thing to come back after not having then for over 30 yrs was involuntary nocturnal erections that appear during REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. The my ED was gone and in time all of the above problems were gone. Going on HGH all of this was coming back first the Panic Attacks then the Sweating and feeling hot with the rash. It just is not worth it to me to go though this when my Dr.'s feel it was not the dose but me. I am not able to do HGH.
