Hi my name is and I would like to get some feedback on choosing injections

or testopel pellets.

History

LabCorp results 10/31/09

Total T: 419ng/dl range 241-827

Free T : 9.8 pg/ml range 6.8 - 21.5

LH: 6 mIU/mL range 1.5-9.3

Prolactin: 3.6 range 2.1-17.7

Dr. prescribed 5mg Androgel, after 19 days got the following results

LabCorp results 11/19/09

Total T 350 ng/dl

Free T 6.0 pg/ml

Dr. prescribed 10 mg, after 3 weeks got the following results:

LabCorp results 1/11/10

Total T 243 ng/dl

Free Testosterone 6.3 pg/ml

Estradiol 6.3 pg/ml range 7.6-42.6

Note: Estradiol Roche ECLIA methodology

On 1/15/10 my doctor stopped Androgel and injected me 200 mg and will test

levels after 10 days. He also suggested Testopel since my insurance will cover

it.

Questions:

Any feedback on what had happened to me the last two months?

How to get the right dosage for injections?

Is Testopel a good option and how to get the right dosge?

thanks

Hi here is what I tell men your levels were not all that low at 419 and

your LH is up and Prolactrin is not to high. So I tell men like your self not

to go on Testosterone meds until you know why your low. I don't know your age

but you should have had a mess of labs to see why your low and it it can be

fixed your levels can come back up. And you not TRT for life but now it's a

little to late.

Some if the things that lower mens T levels are stress, high iron levels, low

Cortisol and Thyroid levels, a Fatty Liver, A low grade infection, being on a

bad diet and over doing it working out in the gym, Meds many kinds of meds will

low T levels.

Here is what I see going on you started on gels a low starting dose.

================================

Yes this happens a lot you start on a low starting dose 5 grams when your brain

sees the testosterone in your blood even just a little it slows down even stops

sending the LH and FSH message to your testis to make the Testosterone you were

making. So lets say your labs for Total T were 350 you add this dose of gel

your brain sees this and you lose the base level you had before the gel.

Now lets say you need more then 5 grams most do so now all your left with is

what the gel is doing so lets say it's doing 200 so you lost 150.

The reason you feel good is your levels go up that 200 the gel is doing in the

first 2 weeks so your levels go up to 550 in theory. The brain sees this and

you fall back.

Why can this happen it might be how your putting on the gel with Androgel you

need to spread it over your upper arms and shoulders and down your back as far

as you can reach this is half of your dose then do the other side. Just spread

it over the area but don't rub it in.

The other thing is it's not getting through your skin good so you need more. If

you have a thyroid problem your skin will become thicker and gels and creams

don't get through the skin and you need to switch to shots.

I tell men when they go on Gels to retest in 2 weeks because you can end up

feeling worse. Most me just need more gel. Dr.'s that tell men to go on 5

grams of gel and come back in 8 to 12 weeks for labs don't know much about the

use of gels. Dr.'s that treat a lot of men for low T on gels see this happen

and test them again in 2 weeks this was a cut and paste to save me time.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now the gels are not getting through your skin and your brain has seen the T in

your blood and your levels are falling.

Your Estradiol levels feel with this your very low the shot will help this to

come back up. If you stay on the shots do them your self doing 100 mgs / wk.

And get some Novarel HCG and do this HCG the 2 days each just before your next T

shot. I use a small 27g .1ml x 1/2 " lg. needle to do my shots. I shoot into my

thigh. No pain my levels are great.

Now about the pellets if your Dr. will give you enough pellets to last your 3

months worth say about 1300 mgs to 1500 mgs go for it if your health care plain

will pay for it. But I was do the shots first to be sure as your levels go up

you don't run into a problem you can all ways adjust your shot if this not

enough or to much. But with pellets you can't unless the Dr. dose sugary to

take them out.

You need to get you levels up into the upper 1/3 of your labs range as you do

this your Estradiol levels will come up try to keep them at about 20 pg/ml gage

this by your night time and morning wood as low as you are I don't think you

have them now. Being to low kills your wood and being to high kills it as long

as you have this wood your estraidol levels are good.

Now once your leveled off your body will start to fix any damage done by having

low T and little by little your going to feel better in them you will be back to

your old self.

Here is a good link to read and one on doing shots.

Thanks for the great feedback. I am 41 yrs old and have lost approximately 25

lbs doing P90x during 2009. Why do I need to use HCG? Approximately how many

pellets will yield 1300 to 1500 mg? The nurse used a bigger syringe, why are

they not using the one that you are using?

I use 1/2 inch 28 guage for my shots right in the shoulder.

I have been using this for over 4 years now no issues

Dr's will use harpoons to give shots just to make a point LOL

I would not do the pellets. figure 2 grand a year vs 1/8 of that for TRT

insuranced covered. I have a few patients on them and they are swithcing over

to shots due to cost effectivness.

Who said you don't need HCG your Dr. this is not true we don't use it and being

on TRT shuts down the LH messages to the testis, your body and brain so all the

LH cells will not work. Your testis will get small and so on.

When you get a shot in the office this use a big huge needle and shoot you in

the butt. A small needle will not hit the muscle using a small needle doing a

back side shot.

I don't know much about the P90x diet and workout program how long did you do

this was the diet low fat and now red meat. Doing this can shut down your brain

from making Testosterone with over doing in the Gym if your working out like you

were a teenage this can be part of your problem.

If I were you I would see if you can talk to Hardasnails here he works with a

Dr. and is a trainer.

Hard what do you think about his weight loss on this P90x program for his age.

Can this be why he has low T.

I'm 40. Posted a couple of weeks ago.

Had Testopel implants put in on 11-23-2009. Testopel raised my Total T level 30

points. 415 to 445. My opinion is Testopel was virtually worthless. $1000.00

pellets, $200.00 office visit, $200.00 to have the Dr. implant them = $1400.00.

Everyone is different and many variables are involved. I've now added 2 Androgel

pumps to my Testopel implants. I'll get a T test Thursday to see where I stand.

I pretty sure adding 2 pumps of Androgel is just spinning my wheels. We will

see.

Your experience mirrors other's with pellets.

Androgel probably won't get you where you want to be either.

As far as I can tell, weekly injections of Testosterone Cypionate are cheap and

very effective.

Unlike Androgel and Testopel, plain old T-Cyp can never be patented and can be

produced by any licensed pharmaceutical manufacturer. With syringes and other

supplies it costs less than $ 1 day even at full retail with no insurance.

While getting a shot every week is not pleasant, after a little while you are

looking forward to the shot. It's certainly easier to take 5 minutes once a

week than dealing with Androgel every day.

I am so mad that you got screwed over like this I have been down that road if

your Dr. did this right your levels would be over 800 he did not give you enough

pellets one needs 1300 to 1500 mgs of pellets to get levels up.

Adding 2 pumps with your levels is a joke 2 pumps is 2.5 grams this is nothing

women do this much. I think you need to look for a better Dr.

He is in this for the money keep you coming back taking your money. Look in the

Database Section here for a Dr. and read the file " Finding a New Male Hormone

Dr. "

Or see if your family Dr. will work with Dr. over the phone to test and

treat you if your family Dr. will do this he will learn about this on your dime

and become dam good at it. www.allthingsmale.com
