Guest guest
Hi Brett what were your Estradiol levels before you started Arimidex and how much Arimidex do you take. So if your Estradiol levels were over 50 and your only taking .25 mgs every 2 to 3 days your still to high. Men over 50 pg/ml need to take .5 mgs every other day to get levels down. If you were under 50 and took .5 mgs your low and you will go low fast. If you were under 50 and taking Arimidex .25 mgs every 2 to 3 days and felt better then started to feel like crap stop taking it until you feel better. As for night time wood if you never got this back or your had it when you started on Arimidex your to low stop taking it. If your not sure get labs done. Guest guest
Here is what I feel happened your started out doing .5 mgs and this is right but going down to .25 mgs with out driving your Estradiol down to low but this I mean you get night time wood keep doing .5 mgs until you lose it going to low. This is when you stop taking it and in a few days your levels will come back up. The morning your wood comes back this is when you go back on it but do .25 mgs every other day. What you did you end up having your Estradiol rebound up on you and when this happens it can go higher. Try this take a 1 mgs. pill today at dinner time see if this stops the way your feeling if it works go back on .5 mgs EOD and follow the above. When your wood stops stop the .5mgs but the morning your wood comes back go back on Arimidex that day or your going to rebound up very fast again. Guest guest
Hi Phil, That was quick, Your " ny on the spot " LOL OK lets try this again, My Estradiol level was 59. March 31: 1/2 Arimidex April 2: 1/2 Arimidex April 5: 1/4 Arimidex April 7: 1/4 Arimidex April 9: 1/4 Arimidex April 11: 1/4 Arimidex April 13: 1/4 Arimidex, This was the last Arimidex I have taken. Started feeling worse same evening, same day of my T Cyp shot (80mg E4D). I never did loose night time or morning wood. It has been pretty consistent right along. That's the part that has me confused because I was watching for that like you said. Maybe it just didn't work that way on me? I do have my ups and downs day to day maybe this was just a worse one but I don't know. I do think when I go back on I will only do Arimidex every 3 day. I never did feal any better after I started the Arimidex like I had expected or hoped too so it is realy hard to say what is going on. Last T shot (13th),was a diferant brand new bottle but I don't supose that could have anything to do with this do you? My high blood did drop down some after starting the Arimidex but then has shot back up at the same time on my unlucky 13th of April. Has any one else seen reduced blood pressure after starting arimidex? Guest guest
Phil, Sorry for the confusion from that e-mail being sent before I was done with it. the next one will make more sence. Guest guest
At age 59 and having involuntary nocturnal erections that appear during REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. I don't see this happen to men with true levels this high of Estradiol maybe your test was bad this happens. But still doing this much Arimidex with good wood you should have lost your wood going to low. So it's hard to say my BP goes high when my Estradiol levels are up. I suffer from holding a lot of water with higher levels of Estradiol. And I have Panic Feelings this drives up my BP. Here is what you can do to be safe take .25 mgs EOD if later you lose your wood stop it when it comes back and it will do the .25 mgs E3D. Try to test this with Quest labs doing a Sensitive test for men on Estradiol #4021 it has a range of 13 to 54 pg/ml. Your best level are between 20 to 30. That's a lot. You have 2.5 tablets in one week and kept going. Most of us do 3/4 to 1 tablet a week. Arimidex has a half life of 48 hours meaning that it is accumulating in your system when you take that much. Going too low can make you fell like shit. Take a week off and see how you feel. You might start with 1/4 every three days. I tend towards 1/4 every other day, but lately I'm finding that eventually gets me too low. Studies on women say it takes about 5 or 6 days for normal levels to be retained. the maybe try it again more moderately.
Guest guest
Thanks Phil, I was wondering if they had done the sensitive test on me. So if you are saying the range is 13 to 54 pg/ml with the sensitive test and mine was reported to be 59 then it must not have been the sensitive test. I asked my PA to write the test # on the RX but he said " we will just write what we want and let them figure it out, " so I didn't argue. Next time I will insist that they ask for the sensitive test. To make maters worse the lab still thinks I am female and they keep giving the female reference ranges which makes it even harder to understand. They keep reporting me " high " " out of range " for testosterone. I know Brett can sometimes be a woman's name. When I first saw that I called the clinic and asked them if I should where a skirt and hi heals or with total testosterone level of over 800 would a woman also have to have a beard to go with it. LOL I will be seeing my PA again Monday and I am going to ask if we can redo the estradol test already. I would like to know what it really what it tests now even if I have to pay for it. Does any one know what Quest charges just to do the #4021 test? Also I would also like to get that saliva test for adrenal fatigue to see if that isn't part of my problem. I didn't see anything like that on the quest website in there lists of tests they do. Does anyone know if quest does that and what it called? My HMO says I have to use quest labs if they are going to pay for it. Thanks for your help, Brett Re: To low on Arimidex? Guest guest
Thanks retrogrouch, That's the great thing about having this forum. There is a lot of collective wisdom and experience on here. I think your on to something with what you say about the half life and it accumulating the system that makes a lot of since. Actually that was two weeks but that explains why I didn't feel much of any effect for about a week and a half that I was aware of. Excepting that on each day after the 1/2 tablet my stool was softer than regular which for me isn't a problem. By the 11th and 13th day my face was uncomfortably warm and dry feeling. Wife said I was having hot flashes. She look up the side effects of Arimidex and sure enough that was one. Also digestive upset and body aches and pains. I have so much aches and pains anyway but I was feeling worse for no apparent reason other than the Arimidex. So I think your right it just took time for it to build up to the level that it was bothering me and also I need to spread it out a little more. I tried another 1/4 tablet Friday evening that was two days after the last and again hot face and more achey today Saturday but neither was as bad as what I experienced on Tuesday my unlucky 13th. As to where my Estradiol level is now I have no idea. I am going to try and get a test to find out. I still haven't lost night wood but I do think my libido has suffered. I am not so sure what to make of that? Whether it has anything to do with Arimidex or Estradiol I am not sure. I think it had decreased some even before I started the Arimidex and I am not sure why. Guest guest
As to the Saliva test I found this at Dr. 's forum not sure if it's a 4x's in a day test but here is a copy of the post from his stite. http://www.musclechatroom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13235 & page=2 ================================================ Thanks for the heads up re this lab (name omitted). I'll refer others to the following labs in future: a) Quest Cortisol, Saliva, LC/MS/MS 19897 http://www.questdiagnostics.com/hcp/...?fn=19897.html This is a single specimen test, but like the Mayo test below, it uses LC/MS/MS and is therefore ultra accurate, and will be relatively expensive too. Labcorp 026948 = 82533(x4) = Cortisol, Four Specimens Insert 026948 into the " test number " field at the following page: Insert 82533 into the " test number " field at the following page: https://www.labcorp.com/datasets/lab...o/sr016000.htm The 82533 test is only offered as batches of 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 tests (obviously meant to be done in a single day). The details regarding each individual test are not spelled out. I suspect this is because each individual test is actually the same as the 500179 " Salivary Cortisol, MS " , but Labcorp don't want us to know this, because then we'd be arguing with them about the economics of purchasing a " multiple test kit " versus multiple purchases of a " single test kit " . c) Mayo 84225 = Cortisol, Saliva (LC-MS/MS) http://www.mayomedicallaboratories.c...Overview/84225 Single specimen, $176 due to ultra high accuracy Reference Ranges (ng/dL) ....7am-9am..............3pm-5pm......11pm-midnight ....100-750................20-400...........<100 d) Genova Diagnostics = Adrenocortex Stress Profile YOU CAN PURCHASE THESE DIRECT http://www.genovadiagnostics.com/ind...sk=view & id=159 This is a 4 sample test.
