Guest guest
Did you have a head injury shortly before you started feeling this way? You can't technically be allergic to a hormone, but you can be allergic to fillers, and you can react to being overdosed if you've been running on no hormones for awhile. Hormones are powerful and should be introduced in small amounts and raised slowly. Barb > > I've not posted for quite awhile but things are strange and I need help. Guest guest
Your being on that much HCG and that dose is nuts converting into Estraidol you need to teat this asap doing a Quest labs test #4021 if your levels are over 30 best at 20 pg/ml you need Arimidex to get this down. I am betting you levels are over 50 pg/ml I swell up big time from high Estradiol and get some bad ED, brain fog, painc attacks and fatigue. Switch to Testosterone try the Androgel or Testim first do labs after your on the start dose 2 weeks if your levels are not up into the upper 1/3 of your labs range go more 10 grams is what most me do well on. Or do Test C shots starting with 100 mgs every week. Keep us posted what your going to do we can help even more. Guest guest
Thanks for the info. As I noted I stpped the HCG completely. Can't add TST at this time as I was never given any just 3,000 units of HCG per weeks (split in two). But the swelling has gone down. I just hurt so bad in evry muscle now. I did have a head injury about two months before all this but it was minor. It was an auto accident and I hit my head on the side window. The doc told me if I was not knocked out it was not serious enough to cause hormonal issues. I did get an MRI and all looked well except for my sinuses. as I noted I just moved so I am in central California now with no doctor. Will a general doc order this Quest lab if I bring in my blood work or should I try to find some other type of doc? Thanks for any and all help > > > From: Bstee <.> > > Subject: Can you be allergic to a hormone? > > To: > > Date: Monday, September 13, 2010, 12:36 PM > > I've not posted for quite awhile but > > things are strange and I need help. Guest guest
I am hypopituitary due to an auto accident and my MRI was good. Look in the Database section at the home page on the left. In this is a list of Dr.'s men here see. Dr. M is one dam good Dr. and in Ca. if you can get to see him he is the best. http://www.definitivemind.com/forums/index.php Yes any Dr. should order this test for you. The pain your having might be from your low testosterone levels this is one big side effect you need testosterone to support your joints and muscles. Guest guest
I agree with Phil that your dosages of HCG are way too big and are converting to estradiols. Back before I found a good doctor, my estradiol level was 115. My legs and feet swelled so much that I couldn't even get my shoes on (I had to wear sandals and couldn't put the straps over the top of my feet because the straps weren't long enough). I kept telling my doctors that I thought I had high estradiols, but they disagreed and said they wouldn't prescribe Arimidex anyway because it would be an off-label use. I had an EKG, Electro Cardiogram, Ultrasound of my legs looking for clots, blood tests for liver/kidney/etc., etc. Doctors tried changing my blood pressure medicine to a Calcium channel blocker, but that made the swelling worse. Then, they prescribed diuretics. This helped a little, but not completely (and of course, then I had to go to the bathroom all the time with very sore legs and feet!). Once I started Arimidex, the swelling went away completely and I don't use any diuretics anymore. Actually, one way I can tell if my estradiols are getting too high is if I see that the tops of my feet are getting a little swollen (to the point where I can't see the blood vessels anymore) or if my ankles are getting a little swollen. Some other less common signs of high estradiols that I experienced: .. Higher blood pressure - my current doctor said that my high blood pressure was probably a result of my estradiols being too high for such a long time .. Dizziness - estradiols cause water retention and this caused me to get fluid in my ears, too .. Feeling like it was more difficult to breath - almost like the start of an asthma attack - again due to water retention around the lungs. I used to take Advair (an asthma medicine) and my inhaler every day. Once I got my estradiols under control, I stopped the Advair and only use my inhaler once or twice every month now. .. Feeling really tired - probably due to all the water retention. From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of philip georgian Sent: Monday, September 13, 2010 12:44 PM Subject: Re: Can you be allergic to a hormone? Guest guest
hit the nail on the head exactly. Until I stopped the HCG (two weeks now) I had to stop using my shoes. I went to sandles but because work requires close toed shoes. I went to a pair of ECCO shoes (the kind with the bungie. At the swelling is down enough that I can wear socks. At the worst I would wear loose dress socks and within a couple of hours my legs looked deformed. Not to mention I went from 198 to 224 in a month. It was crazy. I look like a memeber of the Clumps and and am afraid all the children and going to run away as I gremple " ...get in my belly... " I guess it's not funny but if you can't laugh at yourself what's the point? I'm going to try making an appointment tomorrow and will post what I find out. Thanks all. Guest guest
Hi Bstee, Love your sense of humor! LMAO I am not a doctor, so this post is just from personal experience. I would not give up completely on HCG - your dosage is just much too big. I take 250 unit injections every other day (equivalent to about 750 units per week - instead of the 3000 units per week you are taking right now). Taking much more than about 300-500 units in a single injection for an extended period of time risks desensitizing your testicles to LH (the main chemical in HCG). Fertility specialists seem to prescribe much bigger dosages of HCG - but they do it for a limited time period. I have never really understood the justification for the large dosages, but I also have never researched it, either. You are not using HCG for fertility and you plan to use HCG for a long period of time, so I would highly suggest reducing the amount that you inject each time. For most people, the main problem with starting TRT is that you cause your pituitary to stop sending the signals to the testicles to produce testosterone (the LH signals that you are currently getting from HCG anyway). From what you have posted and from what I remember of your previous posts, it seems that your pituitary is not sending these signals anyway, so why not try TRT? Unless I am misunderstanding something, what do you have to lose? If your thyroid is low, as it seems because almost everything that you listed from your pituitary seems to be low (and low TSH usually indicates hyperthyroid, but if you have a pituitary problem, your TSH will be low and you will be hypothyroid - this happened to me), you will not have much luck with gel. I would choose to try the injections right from the start. Or, start to take thyroid meds and get that under control, then consider taking the gel. Most likely, you are going to need Arimidex. Make sure you ask for a prescription and then follow Phil's dosing regimen. <smile> Good luck at your appointment!
