Guest guest
When I was on the patch I did labs in the morning with the patch on but I did not put the patch on the arm they take the blood from. When I was on the patch it was a bitch. They fell off when I would sweat other times I would have a rash with a ring of glue on my skin taking the patch off. I was told not to put the patch on the same spot for 7 days so I had to use HC cream to get the rash to heal. If your Dr. is sending you to see an Endo don't waste your money or time. Endo's are not good Dr.'s for TRT. Most will take you off TRT telling you your labs are not anygood. They tell you to stop TRT so they can get a Base Line set of labs at there lab. This is Bull no such thing I had this happen to me 7 times and each time I crashed ended up off work on sick leave. And them labs were not covered by my BCBS and all they showed them was how dam sick they made me. And still they did not get it right I was told I am Primary meaning my Testis don't work. After being on TRT 23 yrs I figured out I am Secondary my Pituitary dose not work my Testis are fine. Take me word for it don't let your Dr. dump you on an Endo. Your Dr. most Dr.'s think Endo's are up on this but they are not. Guest guest
Thanks for that advice (as always). I am getting my labs next week. I first go to see the regular doc and he just is concerned that my labs are so bad that it is over his head to treat me directly and I do appreciate his honesty. My total TST was so low, and with LH and FSH both barely readable (even prior to beginning treatment) and GF1 at less than 25% of what it should be and my TSH really low he admits it is over his head to treat me. He offered any of the three TST forms and I said I had no idea and he offered the patch because it was easier. I hate to complain because the patch has done wonders for me. I have energy and can get out of bed. I can stay awake for more than three hours in a row!!! Imagaine that. But I do have these huge welts all over my legs whereever I have placed these patches. And the redness and swelling lasts for about ten days so I am running out of places to put them. I think I might ask the doc to switch me to a different form (cream or injection) as it is really tearing up my skin but it does work so well I hate to change anything. > > > From: Bstee <bstee@...> > > Subject: Should I wear a patch when I get tested? > > > > Date: Friday, October 15, 2010, 12:07 AM > > I was tested about six months ago (43 > > years old with remarkably low TST - 78 total and 43 > > free). Guest guest
Yes you need HC cream to put on the red marks to help it heal. But if you go to shots do them your self have your Dr. show you how to do this. Go to Dr. 's web site and read TRT: A Recipe for success then print it out and give a copy to your Dr. Dr. puts this out there free for you and your Dr. If your Dr. feels he dose not know enough to test and treat you ask him if he will work with Dr. over the phone to test and treat you this way he will learn about this on your dime. Dr. dose this a lot for men. www.allthingsmale.com Co-Moderator Phil > From: Bstee <bstee@...> > Subject: Re: Should I wear a patch when I get tested? > > Date: Wednesday, October 20, 2010, 1:03 AM > Thanks for that advice (as > always).
