Dave I am sorry you are feeling so bad...You are right about the symptoms being the same..That's like when we had the mosquito problem here and they carried that disease...They were the same symptoms we already suffer with so I would not have known if I had it or not...I think it's just that dragon trying to get your spirits down when you are so close to finishing your TX..Don't let it get you ok...We are all here for you giving you that little extra push...Keep in touch but maybe you should go get checked out if this keeps on ok...Let us know how you are doing and you are also in my thoughts...I just think you may have gotten overheated!!! Just rest.... It is probably the flu.. It is going around. I woke up

at 5am and got sick...... Don't forget that our immune systems are not

as strong as someone who doesn't have HCV..... That bugger Jan must have

passed it around.... She has been sick also..... Have some chicken

broth.....And rest... I will be sending healing thoughts your way! ;o

Hey..... Where is Jan anyway??????

Hope that you get better soon. From what I hear on TV if you have a runny

nose you don't have Anthrax.

I imagine so, I have some chicken noodle soup, a

remote and an easy chair waiting for me. I have a

couple of good days and I forget that I am still sick.

I have noticed a much greater susceptibility to colds,

sinus infections, etc. I should say that, I mention

that anthrax stuff, just because it's so prominant in

the news. I imagine I am probably more likely to walk

out the door and be struck by lighting than that I get

anthrax. The media gives us a disproportionate view of

things. Example, I read today that more people are

killed annually by donkeys than by plane crashes! An

odd comparison, but still it makes a point. -dz-

Hi Dave,

Have the custodian put the cardboard likeness in your work chair, eat your

chicken soup, rest, and get well. Oh yes - and watch out for them donkeys.

Hey I live in the country..You never know when one may pop up..Kristy was asking about the nuclear war last night..She said "Mom we could be dead in minutes" I told her "Honey when you put your pants on in the morning you may fall and break your neck and also be killed in seconds"..What I was trying to explain and did was that we have no control over what may happen to us in this war so there is no reason to worry over something we can not stop....I do worry but I told her it's not lie i can jump up and stop the bomb if it's coming..to just live life the best you can..pray for peace.and love one another..I don't know if I done right but I tried...Maybe I was wrong in saying it that way...Any words of wisdom Dave.I need them...

I can remember an ex brother-in-law telling his son.."Do as I say not as I do".....I have tried in my PAST to tell my kids the same thing..I was very calm when Kristy and I spoke yesterday and told her there are things one can not have any control over so we can not worry...If we coud fix it then we could worry about it...That's how I look at many things in life...Even though my past still comes back to haunt me I have no control over it..I can't let it bother me and that damn devil tries to get me alot of times...Dave how many times since you have been sober have you just threw up your hands and said "Oh hell why stop?" but you didn't drink? I know I have done it plenty of times with drugs...That I do have control over but what I have done in my past is just that my past...Sorry to ramble on today.Just have alot on my mind..Maybe i just need some warming.....LOL

I had almost forgotten about my cardboard likeness! :)

I know, ever since I read that I look both ways for

donkeys before I cross the street! -dz-

That's a tough one. You know your daughter better than

anyone else. I think whatever you say needs to be

tailored to her feelings and fears. I have done much

as you have, kids understand more than we give them

credit for. I think the most important thing is to

show them that you are not afraid. They learn more

from the way we run our life than the words we say.

Hi DZ

I think that the anthrax threat might be somewhat serious, but the media is

making it sound much worse than it really is. I tend to believe some of what

they report, and try not to let it worry me. We all have other things that

are more important to worry about.

Hope that you get to feeling better soon.

My parents tried that one with me too, regarding

smoking. It didn't work, I smoked for 30 years. I

haven't used that one on my son. One thing I swore I

would never do too, is to say " because I said so " , but

I have caught myself doing that, now I know how

frustrating it can be to deal with kids " why, why,

why " . All we can do is try our best and pray for

guidance. -dz-

I went through many of those feelings in my first year

of sobriety. I would feel very good about myself not

using for so long and then I would sink into these

dark moods where I would think I was just kidding

myself and life wasn't getting any better. These moods

passed more quickly and came less frequently as time

progressed. I kept it in my head what my counselor

told me " Quit drinking for one year and if your life

has not gotten any better go ahead and go back to it. "

Somehow I managed to hang on. -dz-

Thanks, I am feeling much better today, I'm back to

work. I'm trying to take what the media says with a

grain of salt, I think they're running out of new

things to report so they keep rehashing the same old

story. -dz-

I did see the movie, I thought it was pretty good. Our

counselor kind of stressed that kind of thing too,

don't end or start any new relationships in the first

year. A lot of changes occur in that year. -dz-

You're right. It's really hard to put yourself in their shoes. I do much

better if I stop and think if the situation is really worth a hassle. Many

times it is not. But SOMEHOW let them know your views and values. We

forget that they are intelligent and can reason for themselves. Easy for me

to say now right?
