Hi there

It is difficult for me to respond with the digest but send direct here so you

get a response. I

am recovering from spinal injuries as well as the Chronic illness and awaiting

spinal

neurosurgery.

Yes, when your Haemocrit levels get too high you need to have a venepucture and

lose

some blood. Some people go to Blood Transfusion but where the blood is thrown

away.

Others get their hospital endocrinology unit to do it. I can confirm I was told

by Porfessor of

Endocrinology at St Bartholomews Hospital London for this action. I had been

ignored as

mine rose very high and above range and I had a stroke from thickened blood.

Another hospital (London) endocrinology department said they would just stop

Testosterone

but that leads to bad symptoms of Hypogonadism etc.

As an example my testosterone has dropped to 4nmol/L ca (4 * 28) USA units and

my

Haemocrit has dropped right down to 0.4 (40%). My new Endo wrote and reconfirmed

that

this is a function of Testosterone.

Hope this helps!

Kindest regards,

Randle

Good one Barb I did not know about this.

Phil

, the hormone erythropoietin is what stimulates RBC.

Testosterone, HC, and thyroid are all known to stimulate this. You

are

on all three. Which one is off in you is for your doc to determine.

Hopefully he measures your erythropoietin because that is a simple

blood

test. Apparently he is aware of the testosterone connection, but

not

the other two. If he is not aware, show him some of these articles.
