Guest guest
That is my ND. He is not like Dr. Brownstein which is my MD. He uses Iodoral but only up to 25 mgs. He does not believe in higher doses. Are you in GR? E-mail me at ladybugsandbees@... if you want to chat. Grand Rapids, MI > There is an Iodine literate doc listed for Grand Rapids Michigan. Guest guest
Hi beth, I am located just south of G.R. in Middleville, MI. (ladybugsandbees) is from the GR area, too. We (both) have been traveling to see Dr. Brownstein in W. Bloomfield, MI. I am not aware of anyone more local that practices any kind of an Iodine protocol. I am pretty new in all of this .. so am still learning. is very knowledgeable and is a moderator on this board. Email me anytime. Guest guest
Dear Discouraged: Beg, borrow, and barter, but scrape up $500 and go see Dr Crisler. No, I don't believe he accepts insurance but reports are that lab tests and meds ordered by him are often covered under a health plan. You probably could make some inquiries to your insurance plan to find out. Think of it this way... if the Obama plan gets through, you may end up spending your own money to get proper TRT. Consider this your pre-ObamaCare spending plan! > > Ok, so after sharing the info from this website with my doc and getting two labs for total t only, my doctor dropped me and said I needed to go to a specialist. This is the same doctor that accused me of not taking my Androgel when my total t dropped to 97 at week 3-4. He said he never saw this happen before?? > > The online reviews for the doctor he recommended is not too good, so does anyone have a good doctor or specialist that they are happy with in Grand Rapids? Guest guest
Sounds like your interests would be best served by seeing the docs recommended on this site; there are so many docs who don't care to educate themselves which is sad...El > > Ok, so after sharing the info from this website with my doc and getting two labs for total t only, my doctor dropped me and said I needed to go to a specialist. Guest guest
I'm in the same boat. I'm also in GR and I can't find a doctor that knows anything about TRT in town. I did get a list from Keystone Pharmacy (on Cascade road) of physicians that will prescribe TRT but it ended up being only new-age wellness type places that use Bio-Identical Hormone Therapy. Right now I'm waiting on my PCP to get back to me after my latest results. My Urologist has already told me he won't help. So I'm not keeping my hopes up. Not sure if you have ever seen this article in the GR press: http://www.mlive.com/living/grand-rapids/index.ssf/2008/09/ticktock_fellas_an_ag\ ing_popul.html There are 2 doctors that are quoted in the article. My next step is to contact them to see what their experience is with TRT. FYI, Dr doesn't accept insurance. Check out this link. http://musclechatroom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13052 They say on their site that you may be able to turn the receipts into your insurance company but they don't bill direct. If you check them out let me know if they cover anything because I also have BCBS > > Ok, so after sharing the info from this website with my doc and getting two labs for total t only, my doctor dropped me and said I needed to go to a specialist. Guest guest
We all hate spending money on medical care when we have insurance, but brings up a good point. How much are you willing to spend to get treatment from someone who understands TRT? How many doctors do you want to try before you find one that is willing to treat you and your unique problems? How much is your good health and time and frustration worth to you? If you break it down, $500 is about $42 a month for 12 months. That's 10 latte's from Starbucks, a few lunches, a dinner out with the family, you get the idea. Shoot, these days that's one trip to the movies with the wife. Or, it's a couple of co-pays to a doctor that doesn't have it figured out. Now if you don't have the money, you don't have the money. I get that, but " beg, borrow, and barter " is good advice. _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Sent: Tuesday, March 02, 2010 5:18 PM Subject: Re: Grand Rapids, Mi Dear Discouraged: Beg, borrow, and barter, but scrape up $500 and go see Dr Crisler. Guest guest
First it's dam hard to find a good Dr. so I feel if our an hour from Dr. see him but he does not take and kind of health care plain. Still after your first visit your cost to see him the next time is about as much as my Co-pay. We get guys here sick as a dog that kick this around until they have wasted more money and time not to say even getting better. Then when they finely see him the wish they did it right away. www.allthingsmale.com Even is you find a new Dr. your first visit is going to cost you anyway. Or Drive to Auburn Hills and see my Dr. s 248-377-0600. Guest guest
If money is thight see my Dr. he takes all health care plains it's a long drive but well worth it. He treats your high Estradiol levels with Arimidex uses HCG and is a dam good hormone Dr. If your going to see him ask for a list of labs he needs before you see him and get them done so when you see him you save your self some time. Tell him Phil sent you. Endo's and Uro's are not good Dr.'s for TRT. Guest guest
Thanks for the encouragement. I drove by his office today as we passed through Lansing. I called their office Friday and they are sending me a new patient packet of information to fill out. I will keep you posted...I am not feeling too well with my total level at 97 (anxiety)..What I don't get is how can this level allow me to be sexually functional and functionally much better than I was when I was testing at 227 total before I started Androgel? This really has me wondering. I am not sure what Dr will have me do prior to my First appointment..Keep up with my current program? Go for labs 1st? Try different meds first then labs...I guess I am excited to get this under control. Again I ask, Who else has used or is being treated by Dr and what are your experiences? Thanks ________________________________ From: philip georgian <pmgamer18@...> Sent: Wed, March 3, 2010 9:31:28 AM Subject: Re: Grand Rapids, Mi  First it's dam hard to find a good Dr. so I feel if our an hour from Dr. see him but he does not take and kind of health care plain. Guest guest
I believe if you are on a program and stable, Dr Crisler does labs from where you are. It is best to get these details directly from his office. Hard to say why you feel as you do. This 97 level you mention (while on Androgel?) seems way too low... I'd let Dr C sort this all out. Regarding experiences.... see http://www.musclechatroom.com/forum/ All Things Male. Lots of guys who can give you personal experience and encouragement. Great news you are going to see the best! ...... > I am not sure what Dr will have me do prior to my First appointment..Keep up with my current program? Go for labs 1st? Guest guest
There are a few guys here that see Dr. but most of the men that see him post at Dr. 's forum much like this one go there join and ask away. http://www.musclechatroom.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=2 As for your Testosterone level and sex mine was 120 I was 38 and I had sex 2 to 3 times a week and I worked 58 hrs a week. It's not the low Testosterone that kills your sex life it's high Estradiol levels and as you get older it dose not take much Estradiol over 20 pg/ml to kill it. Good luck seeing Dr. and tell him Phil pmgamer18 said Hi.
