Guest guest
I was wondering if anyone knows why I would have low cortisol, very low pregnenalone and normal to high DHEA? Also, the doc I'm seeing is trying to get me on 10 mg of pregenalone but it has a very stimulatory effect. It feels almost like I drank 5 pots of coffee. Does anyone have any input as to why this is? Thanks, -- Mike
Guest guest
http://www.raysahelian.com/pregnenolone.html Overstimulation is one of the side effects. Also page down for the Q & A. I can only tolerate 2.5 mg twice a week, because I get heart palpitations on higher doses, a known side effect. But it has done a good job of raising my DHEA/testosterone. I thought DHEA went high with adrenal fatigue. Guest guest
Why you have low cortisol it can be from stress in your life or stress from being sick due to low T. I don't do well on Pregnenolone pills even the kind you put under your tounge. I feel like this and think it drives up my Estradiol levels but I am going to try it again but in a cream. http://www.vitaminusa.com/prbocr2ozbyl.html Co-Moderator Phil > From: Rouse <michael.hugh.rouse@...> > Subject: Question regarding low cortisol, low pregnenalone and high DHEA > > Date: Thursday, May 27, 2010, 7:19 PM > I was wondering if anyone knows why I > would have low cortisol, very low > pregnenalone and normal to high DHEA? > > Also, the doc I'm seeing is trying to get me on 10 mg of > pregenalone but it > has a very stimulatory effect. Guest guest
Barb very good info thanks when I first tested my DHEA it was very low been like this for over 25 yrs I would take DHEA at 25 mgs 2x's a day and just get up into the low normal range. I then started treating my low Cortisol levels my DHEA never moved but I then read this link. http://www.tuberose.com/Adrenal_Glands.html In this they talk about how your Adrenals can make your body dump your sodium and one needs to test there Aldosterone and Renin levels. I did and I was very low so I went on Florinef .1 mgs in the morning with a 1/2 tsp of Sea Salt wow did I feel better now I can work out side the heat of summer is not so hard on me. And my DHEA and DHEA-S levels shot up past the top of the range. So I stopped taking DHEA and my levels are up near the top of the range. I feel when a hormone is off like Cortisol DHEA takes a big hit when the body trys to fix the problem. http://www.labtestsonline.org/understanding/analytes/aldosterone/test.html Co-Moderator Phil > From: Barb <baba@...> > Subject: Re: Question regarding low cortisol, low pregnenalone and high DHEA > > Date: Thursday, May 27, 2010, 10:10 PM > http://www.raysahelian.com/pregnenolone.html > Overstimulation is one of the side effects. Guest guest
My DHEA has been super low every time we have tested it. Every time I try to supplement it, however, I get really irritable, even on as little ad 10mg/day. I took 50mg for a couple of days once and was close to enraged. I wonder if Dr. will test aldo and renin for me? > > > > > > I was wondering if anyone knows why I would have low > > cortisol, very low > > > pregnenalone and normal to high DHEA? > > > > > > Also, the doc I'm seeing is trying to get me on 10 mg > > of pregenalone but it > > > has a very stimulatory effect. Guest guest
Yes he will just talk to him about it but most don't feel this problem of dumping sodium until they go on HC for low Cortisol then this shows it's ugly head.
