Guest guest
, As always, there are exceptions. They may grow used to humans being around. We used to hear them when we were kids, rummaging through the garbage cans (while camping), but would run from a person if they saw him/her. Now I must comment on the fact that you imply a knowledge of how a bear would react to throwing rocks at him! It reminds me of a saying, that " he's so bad, he goes bear hunting with a switch " , or Cossell, while being roasted, said that trying to hurt his feelings by their comments was like trying to sink a battleship with spitballs. Tell us more about this rock throwing... --- <ralexan@...> wrote: > They will come into your campsite while your cooking > some times. Had this > happen to me once. Guest guest
The incident that I was commenting on happened a long time ago while I was in the Boy Scouts. We were at the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico preparing our evening meal when this bear came into our campsite. some of the guys started throwing rocks at it to chase it of. They were the ones that got chased off. The bear ate our meal and went on about his business. Re: [ ] Re: Is this the right place > , As always, there are exceptions. Guest guest
Hopefully that opportunity will never present itself, should it, I hope I would have the presence of mind to at least try it. I would probably be too busy shaking my pant leg. -dz- --- Jannewilms42@... wrote: > hahahaaha. Have yu tried punching a bear in the nose > yet Mr. back to > Nature??? Let us know if you do.
