Is it the same leg Siowyang? When sitting do you keep your legs propped up

like on a footstool? Do you wear shorts when the weather is a bit cool and

damp? I ask these questions because I notice that when I'm doing something

with the same leg and its not propped up my leg hurts for a while. I also

notice that when the weather is chilly and I because I get hot easily like to

wear shorts and if the weather is damp my legs hurt from that.

I notice when I push myself and run out there like the Energizer Bunny due to

fact that at times I'm trying to keep up with the general public that my legs

start to hurt.

Since you haven't been to a doctor in a while it wouldn't hurt to go see

someone about it to do a checkup. I would though go to a specialist that

specializes in dwarfism.

When i sit.....as u see i wont be able to touch the ground so it is usually

folded up in the seat..so maybe tht is why is hurts....

Well in sg there isn't a specialist in dwarflism so i really dun know who to

total of 85 this much i understand

but 70/85 =x/300 i get 274.5

15/85=x/300 i get 58.8

what am i doing wrong to keep getting a different answer than every one else

ok what i was doing was dividing by 300 NOT multiplying it by 300

the x/300 had me thinking

x was the product after 70/85 and i needed to divide

if written 70/85= x 300 = 247.06g is it wrong?

Misieyed59,

Hope this helps:

I'm going to take you back to the start of the problem and walk it

through.

Order: 300G of 80%

Stock: 95% and 10%

95 70

80

10 15

-----------

85

70 represents the parts of 95% cream used in the " recipe " / 15

represents he parts of 10% cream = 70 + 15 = 85 > this is the whole

(sum of the parts).

If you are producing 300G of cream - this is the " whole " and is equal

to 85.

A ratio is an expresion of a relationship - usually parts / whole:

95%: 70 (part) / 85 (whole which is equal to the " amt " of of 95% (X)

over the total produced (300G):

70/85 = X/300

cross multiply: (300x70)/85 = X

21000 /85 = X

247 G = X (amt of 95% cream)

To solve this for te 10% using the same rational:

15/85 = X/300 (15 is the " part " equal to the10% crm// 85 is

the whole)

(300x15)/85 = X

4500/85 = X

53 G = X (amt of 10% crm)

Double check: 247 G + 53 G = 300 G (it is verified)

Your answer of 247.06 is correct, but the " book " rounds.

Good luck - let us know if there are any other problems we can help

with.

-- Problem

Hi all-

I was wondering if any of you experienced MGBer's might be able to help. I

had my MGB on July 21, 2003 and have done great. I have lost 129 lbs and

would

still like to lose about 30-40 more. Anyways, here is the problem. For the

last week, I have been getting really dizzy everytime I stand up. I don't

think I am dehydrated (my mom's suggestion) because my urine is not very

dark,

but just to be safe I have increased my drinking of gatorade and water. It

seems to be worse in the morning. Anyone have any ideas? I do have a

doctors

appointment with my OBGYN for my annual check up on Tues and my PCP on the

29th

for my one year check. So, if by then it has not resolved, I will have some

blood work done. Thank you for listening and taking your time to answer.

Thanks,

Could you possibly be anemic? That might be a cause. OR....if your blood

pressure is low, you could have dizziness when standing (orthostatic

hypotension). I'm sure your doc will check these things. Hope everything

works out OK for you!

Jenna,

I get that too from time to time. It's just something I deal with. You

need more salt maybe. I find when I get the salt in from v-8 or soup or

something i feel better. You May have low iron too.

Hi,

That is probably inadequate salt intake of iron deficiency.

My husband had very excellent early results with the LDN. Then he tried

adding minocin to his protocol. After only 3 pills (taken on M, W, and F) he

quit minocin completely. His pain had returned with a vengeance. His eyes are

still improved and swelling is still down some, but he is once again taking

Celebrex and a higher dose of prednisone. Any ideas about what can be done, if

anything? He only began the minocin after his pain was completely gone. He

was hoping to completely eliminate the RA with the Minocin. Instead it has

apparently gotten worse. pj

Shirley,

Does your husband have a confirmed gram positive infection? Staph, for

instance. Some of minocin's side effects are joint swelling, arthritis,

arthralgia, myalgia, and joint stiffness.

One possible reason your husband reacted to minocycline is that he is

infected with some bacteria that causes a die-off reaction, ie produces

toxins when it dies. There are a lot of us infected with bacteria which

minocyline will kill, and we have had the experience early on of not being

able to tolerate mino. But later could take it with no side effect. I wonder

if there is some other antibiotic he could try instead? I found that

Zithromax worked for me, but I am infected with babesia (kind of like

malaria). It's tough to know how to treat when we don't know the underlying

causes.

pj,

When people w/Lyme (and maybe other infections) take an antibiotic that is

effective in killing the bacteria, they experience a Herxheimer reaction -

meaning symptoms they have, or had before, become temporarily worse.

Here's a mention of this happening when using antibiotics for lupus:

http://www.roadback.org/index.cfm/fuseaction/education.display/display_id/187.ht\

ml

There are several things that can help lessen the discomfort of a Herx. If

there's any chance that's what it is, you can surf the net for those.

Could it possibly be gout? I only ask because my husband has been suffering from

it this past week only he wouldn't believe that it could be that until he went

to the doctor. Just something to consider. You might try eating sour cherries

and see if it helps.

Subject: problem

Dear fellow health hobbyists,

I have a problem that I thought I would describe to you-all in the hopes of

learning more about it.

Some years ago I had this excruciating pain in my toes that would happen for

about 5 or 10 seconds and then be gone for 2 or 3 minutes. I solved the problem

by rebounding (jumping on a mini- trampoline) for about 30 minutes a day for a

few weeks. Rebounding supposedly moves lymph, and I believe it. It healed the

pain.

Yesterday, my puppy-zilla landed smack dab on the top of my left foot, and it

hurt. But the worse was yet to come. It started the above pattern of pain for

10 seconds and relief for a minute or so, only just exactly where my puppy-zilla

landed. Her landing on my foot barely qualified as an injury. It was a little

scratch. But, obviously, there was some injury below the skin and above the

bone. So, it started to do these throbs as described above, but only where my

baby-girl landed with her paws. This became more of a problem because I could

not sleep with the intermittent throbbing. I tried EFT, and that held the

throbs off for as long I was doing EFT, but they just returned as bad as ever,

and one cannot sleep while one is tapping. I tried rebounding, and that worked

while I was rebounding, but again, I have been told by reliable sources that one

cannot sleep while one is rebounding [sarcastic humor]. I tried kefir on the

spot where it hurt. That didn't do anything, even though one would think that

the placebo effect would help, since I am a kefir fanatic. I tried putting it

in ice water, and that worked really good. It would continue to work for many

minutes after I took my foot out of the ice water, but, again, it would come

back. And it is impossible to sleep while one has one's foot in ice water. So,

I did not fall asleep until 6:00 A.M. this morning and got only 3 hours of

sleep. {I thank you for your condolences in advance.}

So, today, it was OK, until I took a hot bath (and tried to catch a nap in the

dark in the hot water). Well, surprise, surprise, it came back because of the

hot water. It is much better now (1:11 P.M.), I guess because some healing as

happened. But there is still a little pain.

I am a pitta for you ayurvedic folks. I am 65 years old. I have been a health

hobbyist for about 40 years, on and off.

Any ideas and comments would help. Thank you in advance.

Sincerely,

Bird

Sounds like you could have neuropathy. I would recommend seeing a Podiatrist.

See how I trimmed your post? It only took a second. I would appreciate if

everyone would trim your posts. It would save me some time and keep the clutter
