Guest guest
Hi, I am new to this site. However, not so new to PA. My DH has been suffering with it for about 5 yrs now. He has has psoriasis since his teen years. Developed ulcerative colitis at 27yo and also joint pain in only a toe. We didn't know it was PA then. A Dr told him it was gout. The Dr put him on indocin and he had a terrible reaction to it b/c of the UC. It was horrible. FIrst it started in only a one joint at at time. Now it has progressed to multiple joints during flare ups. He has daily discomfort and stiffness, esp knees. He has tried Met., both pills and injectibles. However, it makes him so nauseaus that he can't do it. Now he is trying Remicade. He had been doing okay until this past weekend. He had the worst flare up ever. It involved both hands, feet, knees, elbows, shoulders. As well as back, chest and the tendons. It was so horrible to see him in so much pain. They gave him the medoral pack of prednisone. It made a small difference but it took time for the flare up to subside. Today is his first day that he looked good. He is still very stiff and sore. No pain or swelling though. I am just looking for support from other PA sufferers. My DH feels so alone. I can only do so much. Thanks for listening~Ali
