diabetes and PS/PA - clinical trial

Hi all - I have been a lurker here for a long time. I am presently

dealing with elevated blood sugars indiciative of type II diabetes

that my GP thinks will be Type I before long.

I have been doing a lot of reading up on the topic, and it turns

out that elevated BS is common among psoriatics, as well as those

who take NSAIDS. Regardless of what the reasons are, high blood

sugars eventually make for a very bad end - heart, circulation,

neuropathy, amputation etc., that makes the results of PA look

acceptable. The current thought is that a large portion of folks

who are diabetic don't know it yet, so some of us may already be

diabetic, it just hasn't come to light yet. I have come across a

website for a US based company that is looking for Type I diabetic

psoriatics for a trial that seems to have quite an impact on BS

levels. It may be of interest to those in the area. Unfortunately,

I don't live in the US, so I am out as far as getting involved.

TolerRX, Inc is the name of the company - not sure if we are

supposed to put links to outside sites, but its just first part of

the company name with .com behind it. Pretty interesting looking

approach, and results so far with just a week or two of treatment

gaining up to 18 months of impact - Gosh don't we wish Enbrel had

that kind of efficacy!

To all who contribute and post responses, you should know that your

efforts are greatly appreciated, and that what we share here is of

great benefit to the many silent ones who read the stories and draw

inspiration from others.

Thanks

MM
