Guest guest
This is a bit long, but I'm a writer/talker at heart. First, a brief history. A year and a half ago I had a pinched nerve in my back that totally incapacitated me. It took two ten-week sessions of PT (2-3 times a week) and two steroid shots in my back before the pain subsided enough that I didn't need oxycodone 24/7. During this time I also stopped taking MTX because of bad liver panels... so bad, that I had to have a biopsy. (Results: Fatty Liver) With time and a few dietary changes I'm finally spending more and more time out of the wheelchair. New info. Last week I had comparison X-rays to see if there has been any additional damage and also to just see what was going on in my spine in general. OMG. They called to ask " Have you fallen or been in an auto accident in the last couple of years? " NO to both. Was I sure? YES. " Well, you've had a break in your pelvic area that wasn't there 3 years ago. In the office, DH offered, " Remember when you were exercising and you heard a crack and it sounded like bone scraping across bone? " YES. I broke a ?naturally? occurring (PA at its finest) fusion. That caused everything to shift, which caused my nerve to be pinched. After further discussion we all decided that was the root of my current problems. The break explained what looked like tiny bits of debris showing on the x-ray. Other than that, everything looks fine. But, I still can't stand or walk for any length of time. I can't walk slowly. I'm no longer super agile. So much for exercise. During that time I gained 6 pounds and DID NOT change in size. I sprained my wrist. And, I broke my back. I can now tell my PCP, I broke my back trying to lose weight and get back in shape with no positive results. lol Has anyone here heard of such a thing?
