Guest guest
Quite a few people complain about the nausea that comes with taking Methotrexate. I was no different. I was even taking Indomethacin (one of the stronger NSAIDS) twice a day. My doctor first prescribed a medicine that coated the inside of the stomach (sorry, I can't remember it's name), but it didn't work for me anyway. As a last resort before I discontinued my MTX, the doctor prescribed one of the over-the-counter antacids (Prevacid, Nexium, Prilosec, etc...) That did the trick. It completely eliminated my nausea. Unfortunately my insurance stopped covering antacids last year, but they're still pretty cheap - I buy Omeprazole (a generic of Prevacid, I believe) at my local grocery store. If you just take it the day before and the day of your dose, maybe the day after, you might have the same luck I had. Keep in mind that everybody is different and what works for one person, may not work for another. Good luck! Jim
